Highlights...

They all seem skinnier than the last lot.

Buckley's is a vast improvement, but it was always going to be.

Nathan Brown - Looks like one of those celebrity mugshots.

Chopper's somehow less threatening with the handlebar AND the surfie mop top.

Dunn and Newton, I'm fairly certain, are a pair of cartoon characters.

Godders' eyes have finally closed over completely.

Chris Johnson is a Beatle.

Trav.... Trav, Trav, Trav.

JMac has returned to the crew-cut.

Having looked at the last set of photos extensively when doing team-sheets and the like, Moloney is WAY slimmer than last year, at least in the face. For whatever that's worth.

Most women I know are manlier looking than Neville.

Ferguson looks just like Robertson!!! HA!!!!

Bottom row hasn't changed AT ALL!

And the award for best photo... your friend and mine, the ultimate role model, setting a fine axample for kids everywhere...

Daniel Ward, with the mo' that looks like it's been stuck on, and the wry grin.

He gives James Kelly over at Geelong a run for his money for silliness in photos.

I see that Ferg has had plastic surgery over the summer. Very impressive job too.

Dear god no!

That photo is a bigger crime than his latest betting scandal. :o

I love Carroll, Dunn, Holland (looks younger), c.johnson (looks older), trav, moloney, ward and whelans pictures

is it me or do they all look skinny and bony on the face! :o

Danny Hughes looks like a monkey.

And Daniel Hayes looks like a conehead.

Go to the rookie players.

Forget the photos and look at the heights and weights!!!!

Ferg has apparently grown 5cm and lost 10kg from what was published in last years season guide.!!

Rivers has lost 7kg.

White 2kg

Neita 3.5kg

PJ 5kg

and Jamar seems to be the only player to put on a couple.

Go Dees - Leaner and Meaner (we hope).

haha harcourt i agree Davey looks like a tru devil demon with his hair horns hahaah

I miss choppers old hair or shaved head looks meaner!

jesus Brock Mclean and Nathan jones have old vet faces especially brock

A lot of the profile pics haven't been updated, only the thumbnails have...

Good to see that they scrapped the advertising behind the player photos.

I just went to bigfooty and found my way to this link. I reckon we should do something like this. Surely it wouldn't be THAT expensive.

Lovett-Murray was the highlight. I know they do this in, I think, the NBA and NFl in America, and it looks fantastic. Having the players turn in live action and say their names, and maybe numbers.

hahahahhaha that essendon thing is fantastic! Good laugh at how awkward some of them felt, Look at Heffernan and Daveys one and matt lloyd does the whole i can stare you down look haha

Ward looks like his trying to imitate Brandon Flowers from The Killers..

Heath Neville hahahah

Was that a couple of our fellow demonlanders being escourted out of the casino by security around 6 a.m. this morning?

The photos are almost as funny as the firstline from Adam McPhees profile

".. One of the stars of the competition.."

Are they for real?

The official MFC website is generally a very unsatisfying experience. Outdated info, no decent injury reports or progress, and few genuine insights in to footy. The sort of stuff us footy tragics crave is rarely there. I seldom bother with it.

  • GAMEDAY: Western Bulldogs

It's Game Day and the Demons will be running out on the field with a new Head Coach, albeit a caretaker, for the first time in 3,060 days when they face the Western Bulldogs at the MCG today. What do you want to see from the Demons in the first match of the Post Simon Goodwin era?

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
