2018 Player Reviews: # 26 Sam Weideman

THE WEID

Finally moved away from his earlier injury issues and inconsistent form to establish his place in Jesse Hogan’s absence late in the season. Weideman’s breakout game was a timely best-on-the-ground display against Geelong in the Elimination Final.

Great finals series hopefully he can take the next step and take over CHF especially if Hogan leaves.

With May coming in to shore up the backline, if Weid can kick 2 goals a game next season we win the flag.

He is capable of doing it. You can see the confidence growing. Once he has that “I belong here” feeling ... look out!

2019 has to be his break out year.

The last six months of 2018 saw amazing incremental improvement.

Has the potential to be a top ten (in our 22) player for a long time.

Beware the hunters and sign him mid season please if not before to avoid the "will he go to Collingwood" saga.

He is the future full forward. 500 goals in a dees jumper and triple premiership player.

Has a good ring to it.
