Greg Swann Is A Hypocrite

Greg Swann says the AFL should feel obliged to assist struggling clubs with the aid of a priority pick. Funny isn't when we were a complete basket case he was totally against us getting a priority pick. This is about the 4th different year he has spoken about his club possibly getting a priority pick. How can you even talk about that in the middle of the year. At least when we asked for a priority pick it wasn't until the end of the season not in the middle of the year. Anyway Brisbane haven't been as bad as he claims yes there win-loss record is bad but they have been a chance of winning most games.

Meh. He’s paid a considerable amount of money to defend the interests of the club he is employed at. He might have considered shutting his trap when he was the Carlton CEO just in case he found himself in this situation later, but ultimately of course this would be his position when running a struggling clib.

Any club sitting there and asking for handouts can just sit there and cop it in the you know what, just like we did for all those years.

Didn't we get priority picks a couple of times?

The answer is no since they have changed the rules. Yes we got a compensation pick for Frawley @ pick 3. The goal post have moved com, they are going to have to do it the hard way just like our Dees through compromised draft picks and all.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
