I picked up the Geelong Advertiser yesterday after a big day surfing on the coast and I had a bit of a giggle at Andrew Bews best 25 players in the AFL. No offence to our only nominee in the group (Robbo at 21 and ahead of Riewoldt) but I think he's way off beam with that selection. (Sorry but I couldn't find an internet link)

1. Matthew Pavlich (Fremantle)

2. Adam Goodes (Sydney)

3. Chris Judd (WCE)

4. Ben Cousins (WCE)

5. Ryan O’Keefe (Sydney)

6. Simon Goodwin (Adelaide)

7. Dean Cox (WCE)

8. Jonathan Brown (Brisbane)

9. Daniel Kerr (WCE)

10. Steven Baker (St. Kilda)

11. Nathan Brown (Rich)

12. Jason Akermanis (WBulldogs)

13. Nathan Buckley (Collingwood)

14. Matthew Lloyd (Essendon)

15. Matthew Scarlett (Geelong)

16. Luke Hodge (Hawthorn)

17. Brent Harvey (Kangas)

18. James Clement (Collingwood)

19. Craig Bolton (Sydney)

20. James Hird (Essendon)

21. Russell Robertson (Melb)

22. Paul Chapman (Geelong)

23. Warren Tredrea (Port Adelaide)

24. Nick Riewoldt (St. Kilda)

25. Lance Whitnall (Carlton)

FWIW Bews siad he regards St. Kilda, Kangaroos and Adelaide as being in trouble in the future.

Is he serious with Baker at 10? Surely that's a misprint.

That's one of the more absurd lists I've come across.

Geelong people.... they blame it on the water.... what can you do?!

I can think of 100 players I'd have ahead of Baker. And Judd is clearly the #1 player in the AFL.

lol, the addy is trash

he said it was ranked on how hard the player is to beat or some absurd reason

just be thankful there arent 14 geelong players in there, with tom hawkins firmly entrenched in the top 10!!!

to give the addy its due, they worked VERY hard to catch the guy who raped the chick in the middle of g-town, but their football coverage (AFL anyway) is terrible, although its funny when geelong start loosing, the "txt the editor" column can get vicious :P

Something in the water...... I thought they had run out of it down there!

Perhaps they are drinking something else....................and doing there little bit for the country by recycling what little water they do have!!!!! I guess if you put [censored] in the fridge it will come out yellow, cold and a little bit frothy. Ha Ha

Seriously, that list is a bigger joke than Dermott Brereton's hair.

Go Dees

I am speechless

I have no speech

I don't remember the internet being that old. A bump from 2006 would see you suspended for weeks nowadays in the AFL.
