Crikies I think my 2 boys were the only Melbourne supporters at Berwick College. Oops sorry it is only a govt school.:D  :D

My kids are at Berwick Lodge.

I can't afford the local privates either. I think Haileybury started at $18k a year and St Margaret's at $16k.

Even if I had the money, I can think of better things to do with half a million dollars.

And mfc has created a Casey Demons women's team in VFLW comp.  Start up 2018.

The Academy and the two Casey Demons teams will help  establish our colours and the name 'Demons' in the region and hopefully spin off to the men's teams and then memberships.

Is there a formal link between the Melbourne AFLW and the Casey VFLW team? In other words, will the Casey VFLW be like the "Reserves" for the Melbourne AFLW team just like occurs with the men?

That is a really good question.

There is a formal link in the sense that Melbourne owns the license for both the AFLW and VFLW teams.

But their seasons are not concurrent.  AFLW play Feb/March and VFLW play alongside the AFL mens.  eg Daisy and Daren Paxman and a few other Demons played in the VFLW GF last weekend.

I'm thinking the Casey VFLW is to develop the game and our brand in that region.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
