Really like Garland - would be nice to see him at the club in the longer term.

Seems like an astute appointment.

 

I think he has been one our most consistent players during some really tough years.

Really glad to hear that he has another role at the club. Always a favorite among his peers so I can see him being a great guy to have as part of the AFLW staff.

Denigrate? Let me add some context.

There's a possibility that the club and Garland have reached a mutual agreement. Garland probably knows he's going to struggle to break into the firsts and doesn't want to play at a different club and begin the transition into the next phase of his career - which looks as though it might be coaching.

It's just a gut feel and I might be completely off the mark but my comment was in no way intended to "denigrate" the bloke.
