The rookie listed rebounding defender with the long raking left foot had a consistent season with the Scorpions and was given a couple of AFL games but the jury remains out as to whether he can make the next step up.

Trod water in 2016. I was a bit disappointed as I'd hoped he would come on a bit. He has a good left peg & is solid overhead. Big year for White in 2017. Make or break stuff

Time is running out for White. Needs a Hunt like season next season if he wants to stay on at the club.

We have too many similar types and White is just too vanilla for me. I would expect that he won't be at the club next year, particularly if Hibberd arrives.

Was very good at VFL level.

I'd expect him to be given a 3rd year on the Rookie list, however need will need to have a season out of the box to leap frog the likes of Wagner & the declining Lumumba...

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
