Im keen on Beau Rossa who is back in the 8th at Morphettville only query is the heavy 8 at the moment. If that dries to a soft5 it’s a certainty.

Thjnk jigsaw and I’m thunderstruck will take some sort of race to be beaten.

Nice choice. I was leaning towards that horse for mine as well.
both add up to a nice $26 combo and would be a great end to the day.

Good get Gorg!!

But Grinzinger looks like it's got some sort of injury issue.  Or just hasn't come back well

Grinz looked in the perfect place, started to come out and just slightly checked then seemed to just not go, injury might be right.
tbh I was stoked with the first half of its race. I thought we were a massive chance.

Same here especially with Jamie on board ... the horse was in the perfect spot to make a run down the straight but alas ...

That's racing!

5 Group races next Saturday and the good horses running around again can't come quick enough!!

The Memsies already has 3+ horses I really like in it from my blackbook without even seeing the full field.

Should be a cracker

Yes Gorg, and the Winx Stakes (G1) is run a week earlier than the G1 Memsie Stakes both run over the same distance (1400m) at WFA ... but both races will attract strong fields

Strong rivalry between the States but the punters are spoilt for choice as a result.  I don't mind the competition at all and I'm sure the owners & trainers don't mind it either (or the jockeys)

www.JustHorseRacing.com has the early fields up for both races with the early odds

Veery Ellegant fav, wonder which version shows up???

I have been a fan of I am Superman but this is up with the class horses now, but at $51 I reckon I got a bonus bet that could be used 😬

Caulfield. Race 3. N13 Zesty Belle $5 W

Beau Rossa vs Behemoth….

This should be a race to watch. Also will be both in the memsie a week later.

Lightsaber returns, will watch with interest but will be better at 1400 than the 1100.

Dalasan could form the trifecta in the Spring Stakes with Behemoth & Beau Rossa you'd reckon Gorg

Perfect Route for 4th? Might sneak in for 3rd but your top 2 should finish 1 & 2.  As you said, a good race

The PB Lawrence (Caul R8) is another good race ... at WFA as well.  Streets fav but I don't mind Red Can Man & Superstorm.  Samson can run well too

The other race with a few decent types running around is the Spring Preview (R7 Kembla) ... good betting race with Frosty Rocks slightly favoured

And Behemoth gets the money over Beau on protest!

I was out for the day, so got my bets on early and missed most of the races live. I did watch Beau vs behemoth tho. Sportsbet paid Beau Rosa out as a winner and zi didn’t realise that there was a protest until later in the night when a mate told me.

Neither of our choices looked good. Zesty Belle just hasn’t come on at all this prep.

What do you like in the Winx Stakes Gorg?

I reckon Verry Elleegant will definitely be in the first 3, Kolding for a smidgen of value & Brandenburg is my roughie for the exotics

Verry Elleegant is the one… but which one? The horse that looks like the next star or the horse that plods along and never gets the turbo boost?

Kolding loves the track and distance and at $5.50 looks overs.

mo’unga is also interesting as it’s first up, has a few wins over the distance but prob needs a slightly slower race.

I think Cascadian is right up there and my roughie is Hungry Heart.

so in Summary, V E should win if it produces its best which it doesn’t when I back it 😄

But for me, Kolding or Cascadian prob get my money as it sits now with track etc

Got a mate who is right into horse racing and he reckons Cascadian is the one

14 horse field with any number of chances on a fast track in a truly run race could suit the swoopers and a horse like Kolding

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
