My mate plays for Saints. Said the plan during the week is Gilbert to Hogan, Dempster to Watts. Might have to slap some $$$ on Hoges for most goals

not really. He hates footy, really doesn't care. It's just a job.  Plus I'm sure the saints couldn't care less about someone mentioning a rumour on a Melbourne fan forum

His contract tells a different storey. He's a good player, so he will play as long as he wants, would just rather play local football with his mates away from the pressure

Probably the most interesting little run of posts I've ever read on Demonland...

It doesn't surprise me. Who really enjoys their job? Even when you get a job doing something you enjoy, eventually it morphs into something you hate.

That's a fairly fatalist view of life!

That's what the last ten years of Dees supporting does to you! :P

I have a mate who plays for St Kilda too. He said that Montagna was playing in the ruck, Reiwoldt is having the day off to go house hunting (so won't be playing) and they will be playing a 9 man forward line!!! Oh yeah, and Jack Steven will be lining up on Hogan.

After the Bombers game (We picked underdone players, we'll learn from it), after the Saints game (We picked the wrong players for the ground, we'll learn from it), after the Bulldogs game (In hindsight another tall would have been good), After the Port game (I've got to take responsibility for not making more changes for this week. We spoke about it at match committee).

There's 4 examples.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
