RIP Jon English

This is one out of the blue...

Lucky enough to have seen him a few weeks back, my partner knew Jon quite well and she is devastated this morning by the news.

(Rjay -we both put a topic up at the same time - i deleted mine)

For one am not a believer in the "big g" upstairs but if I did I would suspect he is angry at something as we have lost another one.

I have fond memories of my youth watching countdown and watching Jon English with those massive black eyes rock out. I have not seen him live in over 20 years but do remember him supporting international acts in the 80's and being really dynamic on stage.

Another good one gone way too early. RIP Jon

I was a big fan of  "ol' black eyes",  back in the day,  from his stage & screen,  to recorded music.  his rock ballads to his tv hits.  loved his individual style.

Mr Integrity is the way he came across.  very sad to lose another much loved Muso,  from a great era of Australian music.

R.I.P.   Jon English

Can't say I was ever a fan as such, but you have to admire someone who succeeded on as many levels as Jon English did... he will be missed by many... RIP.

Saw him many times and he and his band the Foster Brothers / Baxter Funt were one of the tightest & best live bands I've ever seen & heard. He was a terrific entertainer with a great sense of humour. RIP

It been a shite week
