Jack Watts vs Jimmy Toumpas

Featured Replies

Both he and Salem showed they are in an elite level of skill and footy sense. The same is true of Jack Watts. All will have their time, maybe this year, maybe next, but they are seriously talented boys.

The good thing is now they have great leaders to help them use that skill to get the best out of themselves. To add players like Cross and Lumumba would help to show the amount of work that is required. I don't think we can underestimate how big their influence may be.

According to Dom Tyson, Dan Cross is enormous in his influence over every aspect of how to be a footballer. It's as crazy that the Doggies let him go as we did Junior McDonald. Wiser heads now prevail thankfully.

Sounds like the 10 year long Colin Sylvia conversation everybody use to have.

20** will be his year!

6 good games, 10 stinkers and 6 mediocre performances.

Same old same old.

Next year " watch Sylvia, big year for him in 20**"

Never happened....

Be careful with your pie, don't cook too much, you may be eating it alone.

Toumpas may not make it but comparisons between him and Sylvia are off the mark.

Sylvia didn't make it because of his attitude. Toumpas certainly doesn't have that problem.

Actually I would prefer this thread to be renamed:

"Jack Watts & Jimmy Toumpas"

The curent thread title sounds too negative. Let's not forget that they play together in the one team!

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
