Ideas to better the club

Featured Replies

With posts like that, I sometimes wonder how you ended up supporting a club whose supporters have included Alan Stockdale, Billy Snedden (though I am guessing you approved of the manner of his passing), Rupert Murdoch and Henry Bolte (both number one ticket holders).

Well you may also wonder about our little group as well the ' Marxists for Melbourne ' faction. But as Vladimir Ilyich said ' get in everywhere '.

I reckon we should lean on the MCC to rename the 'G the Melbourne Football Club Cricket Ground (the MFCCG).

Great way of brand-bombing every non-footy event that takes place at the ground - cricket, concerts, functions, the Museum, everything happens at the Melbourne Football Club Cricket Ground!

We can market a new MFCCG membership for sports nuts wanting to avoid the 50-year wait to become an MCC member. "Join today and get reserved seats at one of the world's great stadiums for special exclusive weekly sporting events (Melbourne games)."

Don't exaggerate. It's only 40 years.

$20.00 car wash on entry, with complimentary beveridge.

Sure you're not thinking about what the Bulldogs might be offering?

Every club compliments their new coach as the best thing since the last coach who won them a Premiership. Doesn't take long for the attitude to change, though.

We need the trumpeter back, or maybe even a full orchestra, some kind of live, raw music to get people's spirits up. Also some fan interaction thing like free beers if you correctly guess the first goalkicker through some smart phone app.

Warnie might've said that too!

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
