Forum Footy - Sunday, October 5

Great game to watch and some brilliant plays too. I must say the player that resembled Bernie Vince was one of the best on the day. Congratulations boys!

Hi Dees,

Great day yesterday I think we can all agree it was great that we finally had a contest that was still up for grabs with 5 mins to go.

You guys just had one or two more "better" players that got you over the line although I think our young blonde bloke Tom gave Leroy a run for BOG.

I once again apologize for the mess with the ground. Security had threatened to have the police come down to charge me as organizer with both trespassing and any damage caused to collingwoods "10 million dollar reno of the turf". I do think however that despite what we had to put up with we still put together a pretty damn good game of forum footy.

Thank you to a Three umps Chris, Rob and Rollo and thank to rollo successor for a nice easy organization of the day.

Also i'll blow my own trumpet and say I was pretty happy to kick just my 4th career forum footy goal (1st against you lot).

I will hopefully be in contact again for the feb game and hopefully I can try to start getting some interest up in the other forums.

Cheers,

Scotty

No wonder they were victorious- some scary bas tards in that lot!

Its good to see biff at the 6 sec mark of video.

Special thanks to Vicpol for arranging his appearance.

Tell you what blokes I have been hardly been able to move today since being put on my arse in the centre square by "the flying Fijian" as Leeroy has dubbed himself

Also if you any of you blokes that play footy and are looking for a change of scenery come up to kinglake football club if you don't live too far away that is.... Good bunch of blokes and social scene within the club

I'm working on getting Leeroy the flying fijian down there plus a few other mates trying to get as much quality to the club as I can

Seriously (if we have all finished)...

Now that I am no longer an organiser,..

I think the organisers on both sides need to find a venue next time that:

One, has goal posts...

Two, is secure, so we don't spend the first quarter wandering between ovals...

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
