Frankston v Casey Scorpions

Not sure who you're having a go at here mate but all I can see in your post is that you've cut and pasted bits and pieces.

My post was this.

...and I stand by it. Getting your head knocked off backing into a pack does not prove you are an inside player and Jimmy T is not.

I have never said he's an inside player. I have debated the notion of him being soft, as others of your ilk imply. My examples are simply to illustrate this fact as you and your mates constantly overlook Toump's hardness. He goes when he has to. His role has never been an "inside" role. Look at his tapes. With a decent midfield around him you will see this. He is a very good user of the ball. Given the time and opportunity, he will show this when PR sees fit.

He's definitely an outside player at the moment and needs to develop an inside game, that's code for get his own ball.

Correct, he is an outside mid. Has played high half forward in his 2 AFL games. At Casey, playing hbf rotating onto the wing and using those skills superbly.

Salem and Toump to come in this week.

He is one of the softer players in the team in the JW category, stop making out he is a hard nut, because at the moment he is not. Just because some bloke knocked him out in Alice doesn't make him any softer, and we know the rest, sublime skills etc

Your a dill. No point is there really. Maybe if you cast aside your delusions of grandeur you would see things a lot clearer. Seeya later oh ye King of the Keyboard.

Fair enough.

You won't have found me saying he's soft anywhere on this forum, in fact you won't find me saying anyone that plays AFL is soft.

You will see that I have been disappointed in his output to date and expected a bit more from him after seeing some of his SA senior football. I have been surprised at how he has been pushed out of the contest way too easily. He needs to address this before he will make an impact at AFL level.

I've also been disappointed in his kicking, which is his strength. A lot of his kicks have been dinky give and gets, he is a much better kick than this and I'm sure he will use this kicking weapon better with more experience and good coaching.

Hip Ops affect your core strength, but point taken.

...agreed. His kicking could be better, but what have his options been? No forward structure to kick to in general, but he has fluffed a few admittedly. Agree with the back end of your comment. I'm not an apologist for anyone, it's just that I would hate to see the Toump, have to put up with the same JWR stuff for the next 5 years.

Meanwhile, still awaiting your continued thoughts on leadership Machsy.

You can keep waiting.

I'm not going to go over well-worn and frequently discussed ground.

If you need it explained to you that there's more to leadership than onfield actions, then there's not much I'm going to be able to do to help you.

It is on-field leadership that we have lacked since Neitz.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
