Rohan Bail - 2014

Featured Replies

Kent has a problem with his patella and is not running at the moment, Roos wants Blease to get fit (his words not mine) Byrnes and Tapscott are in the rehab group , Roh Bail is in full training and has been since day 1, so maybe he is ahead at the moment

Satyr, just to clarify. When you said "his words, not mine", did you mean Paul Roos's words or Sam Blease's?

In my mind Nut hes already on that list ( hes not alone either )

I am delusional - I am a fully paid up member of the "Roos turning pigs ears into silk purses" club.

Roos, at his presser at Fed Sq the other day, Blease's name was brought up, and he said, paraphrase "we have to get him fit", (seems to be doing nothing but running at training)

I see the "poor disposal" as a secondary issue.

To me he is a hard at it midfielder. The major problem is he doesn't get his hands on it often enough and as pointed out, when he does get the pill his disposal is iffy.

Yes he has to use the ball better but first step is to get more involved.

If this doesn't improve then he will be an end of year casualty.

Was just about to post this, he needs to find the ball a lot more.

From what I can gather talking to the players, apart from the key position (if that still exists), I think Roos has already got around to every players and told them what role he expects them to fill, and that it is up to them whether that is at MFC or Casey.......Roh Bail 'imtimated', ie I have to learn to read berween the lines, I get bits, in this case I asked him why he was training with the forwards, and he said his role would be as a forward using his gut running.....so I interpreted that as defensive forward

Because of his running ability, do people see him as a tagger? I think his disposal isn't great, but it's better than McKenzie's. Conversely, his tackling technique is not as good as he gives away too many frees for head high tackles and "in the back". I've always thought his natural position was as a "run with" player.

There was a game last year, can't remember which, he had 8 tackles and one free against?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
