Yep, nothing wrong with that and it's the smart way to go about it.

Burgs & EQ are clearly close if you go by their twitter conversations.

It's just that those using her phantom draft as a way of gauging talent may be using a false economy.

 

Out of all the Phanton Drafts journos have done, there were none better then Matt Burgan.

I miss his phanton draft days. Was always usually spot on with predictions and use to do it right up till the last pick. Had great insight into every player and club movements.

Now he spends his days giving awkward interviews on the MFC website.

 

I think it's because EQ usually gets the inside word from a few recruiters on who their side is keen on, rather than her being a good judge of talent.

With Collingwood playing ducks & drakes trying to get their favoured 2 at picks 6 & 10, it has made those in the middle order tighten their lips.

Ipso facto, she is being forced to make an educated guess for once.

I think she does have the inside word but unlike a lot of her colleagues she also does her homework, watches games and interviews all the kids. That would give her some respect in the recruiting community and maybe be more access to information.
