Saturday 3rd August

So It's just taken a couple of years for the Gold Coast to pass the plummeting demons. The horrifying thought is when will Scully and his mob from GWS pass us before we splatter on the basement floor of the ladder. At the moment their percentage is better than ours. Did we get a fools reprieve those few weeks ago when after trailing all day we mustered up one herculean effort to snuff them out in the last quater. I fear that was a delaying of the inevitable ultimate bottoming out, which could come as early as Saturday 3rd August for the 1:45 game at Skoda Stadium. This demon team will be so shot with confidence that there will be no 12 goal last quarter to blind us to the fact we are the worst. This game will remain the one ultimate goal for the Giants this year. Beat Melbourne on the 3rd August and they will avoid the wooden spoon in their second year.

Is this all a dream ?????

Yep.

The Giants were better than Melbourne for 3/4. They flopped in the last as inexperienced teams do and Melbourne ran all over them as the typical downhill skiers suddenly had a bit of oomph as the pressure waned.

just a question on perspective.....Will it count as GWS passing us if they are standing still and we are in freefall?

They're already better than us. They're at least exciting to watch and they have a crack.

Our players just stink, our coach just stinks, our whole club stinks.

Hopefully by August 3rd personel within the club will have been changed.

By god i hope so, there is nothing but pain & damage to be had by waiting till seasons end.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
