Monday & Tuesday membership volunteering

We are confirming that this program will run through May & into early June.

The club has unearthed a large volume of lapsed members of 2011 & prior.

We had a lot of success with these last week - appears a club call makes the difference.

NOT in a position to assist? We recognise that this project location/timing does not suit many.

However if you could forward this info on to any other Demons, who knows.

Best contact to get further info is 1300 DEMONS = 1300 336667 & ask for Tom or Jane.

Go on, be a Demon!

Volunteer results to 24th April are:

-Total volunteer memberships sold 448

-Total revenue from calls made by volunteers = $61,453.27

-4,983 calls have been made over 14 nights

-30 Volunteers have come in over this time.

I am target oriented & ask myself what can we achieve by the 2nd week in June cut off:

1000 memberships .... probably too hard by early June, but ??

$100.000 revenue ........we should slip past that within May. Maybe $130.000

10.000 calls ................. would require the max of 15 volunteers each night. Possible??

Great to see a figure on all the hard work. The goodwill is priceless. Hope a few more people could make themselves available to help out. It's only 2 hours and even one session spreads the load.

Tuesday 30th was a tough night.

Reminded me of a cold blustery July day down at the Cattery.

12 volunteers fought thru the 2011 lapsed members & we eventually scraped out a score of 18. Some days are diamonds, but not this one.

Losing 2 players who have given us 16 nights straight. Pete & Judy need a rest & we are keen to get replacement onballers from Monday.

Tx to Catherine, Dave, Dee, Danielle, Peter, Judy, Peter 2, John, Michael N, Steve, & Trish.

Volunteers Match report 6/5/13

Six volunteers tonight Tx to Michael M., Geoff, Trish, Sarah** & Liz#

**Sarah’s first ever night & Liz’s# first for the year.

19 sales & lots of good vibes & messages.

Tuesday looks to have a stronger volunteer response but any extra effort would be great.

INTRODUCTION

Sarah** runs a group of 25 plus Demons who have come together to assist the club.

They are not sure how yet & Sarah’s volunteering tonight was exploratory to this objective.

Their rallying point is the Transport hotel – Fed Square.

Interested? Leave a message here & Sarah will pick it up.

D2D & the ’transporters’. Sounds promising.

Great work.

I think we'll get over the Suns and hopefully that translates into a fruitful night on the phones.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
