What did he say?

It was really poorly done and I don't know why they bothered. Beretta came on live from the MCG and then Mark Neeld walked in from out of shot after an intro. It lasted all of 3 minutes. Beretta asked him three things, (all paraphrased horribly here):

  • How do you recover after playing so rubbish last weekend?

    "We do the boring stuff you guys don't want to hear about. We give a review, show the players what happened and what we'd like done better"

...which I took as: "Nicho, see what you did here where you've punched the ball with two fists, mark it next time, that'd be better. Also, you're playing with no confidence, don't play with no confidence anymore."

"Roger that, Coach."

  • How was Jack Viney's game? You must be happy with that?

    "Yeh, Jack was great but he's only 18, so lower your expectations."

  • Can I remember what this question was?

    "No, I cannot."

Was pretty disappointed with it and I've been a big Neeld fan, at least until my confidence was rocked pretty heavy last weekend. Still happy with him, but less blindly optimistic right now.
