You are Kidding aren't you....The Board and CEO are ultimately responsible for any company...

The MFC and it's supporters must expect better than the last 7 years....Watch todays game Stuie.

How far behind it are we??

7 years to climb.....

Yes we are behind ON THE FIELD. None of the board members are responsible for coaching or playing, and the main guy responsible for picking the coach isn't even a board member.

Directionless anger is just plain dumb.

If this board had been in charge since 64 I may agree, but these calls are plain dumb.

Schwab is not responsible for our gameplan (or lack thereof), McLardy is not responsible for our lack of effort, they're not even responsible for who we trade/draft! I know we're all angry, but let's not just swing blindly at anyone we can think of, let's be the opposite of our team and actually focus our attention where it should be, the players and the coach.

Ultimately the CEO is responsible for the performance of the club, use all the names you want 'stuie' but this time Schwab must go. The last year and a half have been wasted by the board not having the balls to make the move after the Geelong game.

Gone....and this week.

Norm Smith was sacked by a board Stuie.

So the curse began at board level.

Maybe we should find them all, re-elect them, then get RR and WYL to tell them off and sack them?

FCS, how do you guys not get this? We're doing as well as can be expected off field given how much we suck on field, so put 2 and 2 together.

You obviously have no idea what a board or a CEO do within organizations Stuie.

They ARE ultimately responsible....

Haha turn it up WYL.

CEO = Off field

Coach = On field

If you don't get that then there's no hope for you I'm afraid.

Off field flows to on field Stuie. It's a very basic truism that even you should grasp.

Haha that is the dumbest comment you've made mate.

We're successful off the field, so clearly you are 100% wrong.

We made an (albeit small) profit last year, what was our onfield percentage?

You have 0 logic.

Also, I like the way RR has worded the poll again to suit his agenda... I hope he realizes that the second two options say the same thing so the votes are accumulative.

We are not successful off field. We are weak surrender monkeys.

You reckon supporters will dig into their pockets to fund another bail out? I don't.

Coach still answers to the CEO Stuie ultimately.

Vlad is the CEO of the AFL He is ultimately in charge.

Please understand this basic fact.

It comes across like the culture problems and rot that became very public in 186 goes further than the footy department.

How many coaches and players would you like to see get turned over before you start considering maybe the problems are higher up?

And you think changing CEO's will magically turnaround the quality of our players and coach? How ridiculous.

WYL. Come on mate. That is a pointless post. The CEO doesn't develop a gameplan and hand it to the coach.

So what you're saying is, the coach answers to the CEO, our CEO answers to Demitirou, so we should sack Vlad then hey? That will fix us!

We are not successful off field. We are weak surrender monkeys.

Off field we made a profit last year.

On field we won 4 games.

Try and borrow some logic from somewhere.

Believe what you like Stuie. Our CEO signs off ALL the cheques paid within the club.

He is ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE for the employees of the club.

All of them on & off the field.

Neeld is the coach so he is in charge of the FD with Neil Craig, but the CEO is above these people.

That's why he is called the CHIEF.

WYL, you can't be that dumb, surely?

As I said, if you want to follow that logic then firing Demitirou would be the solution...

Get a clue.

Forget the $2 bob profit or whatever it was. A minor concern. More pressing is the butter soft culture which permeates down from the top. The one which meekly accepted the media hounds painting us as the tanking club. The one which didn't have the cojones to march into court when integrity dictated we had to.

Don't bother replying as it's clear that the relative complexity of these notions is lost on you.

Ugh... you are so utterly clueless.

This is about football, not politics. Don't try and overcomplicate a relatively simple thing.

We are playing badly and being coached badly. The business side of the club does not effect this.

Me get a clue?

Vlad can revoke our licence you know. He won't, but can.

For the last time...Club employees are all answerable to the CEO.

When things are not working the CEO is answerable to the shareholders. (us).

It's the coach and players that are failing. Point blame where it lays not where you want it to be.

Absolute rats.

Football and politics are intertwined you dolt. Always have been and always will be.

And while we're on the business side of things, how many memberships do you reckon the club cost itself yesterday? How do you reckon the sponsors felt? You reckon that $2 bob profit can't be turned into a million dollar deficit in a matter of months. We're aleady $500 large in the hole owing to our capitulation to Demetriou and Co.

Get with the program.

For you they are intertwined, but in reality they are not.

With the players and coach we have the result would have been the same yesterday not matter who happened to be sitting in the CEO chair.

It's called "football" after all, not "politiball".

However, pathetic onfield efforts will surely destroy "the business side" and, the club itself.

  • GAMEDAY: Fremantle

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
