2012 Player Review - # 44 Rohan Bail

Rohan played mainly as a forward, also spending some time in the midfield. He can run all day, which is a great asset to his individual game, as well as the team. Rohan had a great finish to the year, which could only have been improved if he had been more accurate in front of goal. Rohan always works hard, wins the footy and plays his role each week for the team. - Leigh Brown (forward line coach) melbournefc.com.au

Works hard, but such an average player. Can't kick and makes poor decisions.

Still, if we keep trading out our promising midfielders and replacing them with Z-graders like Pederson & Rodan, Bail will probably play every game next year.

Learn to kick and will be a good player. Difference between him and Morton is that he has a real dip. But unless he can hit a target it would have to be his last year.

Hello Poita, I'm trying to work out the 'promising' midfielders we traded.Do you mean Morton, Gysberts and Moloney? They struggled to get games this season. Might their 'promise' have been realised next season? I'll go on record here and state that our new players - Viney, Dawes, Byrnes, Rodan and Pederson will play many more games next year than those traded out played this year.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
