I have formed an opinion that the MFC is in drastic need of fundamental change and so far Mark Neeld has made all the right noises about changing it.

This is not enough and no cause for confidence. I am concerned that people pay too much attention to the "right noises" and not the reality. "We will be the hardest team to play against" is good noise, do we have any reason to think that we are making worthwhile progress on this front?

I believe in him because so far he has taken measures to do what he said he's going to do.

This is what I am interested in, please explain these measures more fully and why they give you confidence in his abilities.

An opinion of this nature can quite reasonably be made by now.

As to weather he is a good coach no-one can know this definitively until he has a list of players he's comfortable working with. So yes, you are 'allowed' to form an anti-Neeld opinion. But to do so at this early stage is folly and smacks of hidden agenda.

I see this as inconsistent. You appear to think that the only valid opinions at this stage are the ones that you hold. I would contend that all opinions are valid provided that they are based on evidence.

I'm really sick of that "hidden agenda" stuff. I read it on hear all the time and I know that you are aware that I am accused of it more than most. Ultimately, it is meaningless and it certainly has no relevance to this discussion. When people start to play the man and not the ball, it is usually because they are losing the contest.

We all have our views.

Mine is that judgement cannot be made on the current FD but they have a fantastic pedigree and they should be given time.

Others (around 6 posters on here - prolific posters of late) are happy to judge on what they have seen, and would like Neeld removed (I assume Craig and Misson too?).

It's all rather moot, because the regime is going to get their time and no amount of hand-wringing is going to change that.

So why don't we leave it for a year, hmm?

HSOG is right - this place can be unreadable and make one not want to post on here...

He said that about 6 posts ago however...

You want definitive answers where there are none because the man has not had enough time to give you them.

If you can't get your head around that I can't help you I'm sorry.

You'll have to be patient and wait another year or so. Hope you can hold on 'til then.

RR has totally lost a perfectly logical argument and now you want to stop the discussion rpfc?

HSOG has provided some of the most readable and interesting comments seen around here for some time.

It's time you justified your defence of the current regime with something other than give them time.

Yes, I was just about to throw in the towel but then Range Rover made a decent post which I felt deserved a thoughtful response.

I won't apologise for my continued posting but rest assured that I have had my fill for today.

Suffering from concussion RR? Logic does that to you.

I've lost nothing.

How so? Because the man you want sacked sits in the driver's seat.

He 'aint goin' nowhere. Better get used to it.

I gave my reasons. It's your problem that you won't accept them or give the man time.

Your problem entirely.

That's the problem that you can't see - where is the vehicle heading? (That's a rhetorical question RR.)

I have, hardnut.

Repeatedly, amongst the many posts that have been started by the handwringers and the supporters and whoever else.

I am more than happy with what I have said and my position on the current regime.

And I know that no matter your concern, or your concern trolling, nothing will happen that is outside of what I have said: they will be given time as they should be and that is that.

But by all means - tpm, bandicoot, hardnut, tonatopia, ADC, and now HSOG (welcome back, please don't use our impolitic ways keep you in exile again) - you guys can howl at the moon all you want.

Just don't expect Demonland to put up with it much longer.

Poll's up me boy.

I'm confident. Are you?

Bang!

Don't forget to cast your vote in the poll too, Tona.

Duck, weave, jab, jab, right hook ... SMACK!

Seen plenty of polls in my time, they don't change the end result...

Whether we win the vote now or in 2014. Neeld ain't our man. It just takes time for some to wake up.

'slap'!

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
