I can think of 6 million reasons (1 million of which relate to children). Not to mention another 4 million reasons nothing to do with religion. I imagine if a person killed a member of your family, you would want he or she brought to justice no matter their age but that is a guess. The comparison is insensitive and inappropriate. My comment on tainting is also satire and irony. Mmmmm. Perhaps acknowledging an error in attempting some humor is warranted rather than trying to justify it.

Get over yourself mate. you seem to be one of these PC types that takes the world just a bit too seriously. We all did hisstory. we know what happened. The irony in Biffens comments seemed to go over your head a bit. Chill out and let people express themselves. no harm done.

Thought you may be too small to even acknowledge you were insensitive. I can only hope you never experience the pain and hurt my family experienced. Until my last breath I support anyone who brings evil people to justice and will ensure people remember what happened to ensure this never happens again.

Good for you mate-I wish you well. There is little can be done about it now.I hope your famiy and descendants never have to experience anything like it again also.Though my Dads uncle was killed by Japanese we never really talk about it.I respect and admire the Jewish people. I stil think hunting old Nazis is a little ridiculous-but that's me.Hope you can forgive my comments one day.

I just did. That is all I wanted. We can disagree and we do obviously that justice should be served no matter the age. I just wanted some acknowledgement that it could have been insensitive. There are things we can do and that is make sure this happens to no other faith, race or people. Anyway, let's just concentrate now on Melbourne beating the Kangas.

Wow this thread really veered off course in a hurry.

FWIW Biff I can't see the value in using the Simon Weisenthal centre as a backdrop for some analogy about Tom Scully.

Bit more tact required mate.

Peut etre.

Tact has never been a strength of mine.

With all that said and everyone having had a chance to have a say, we gather Tom is happy.......well, at least he says he is. Although america de cali thinks things aren't as they seem at the new franchise, perhaps the first signs of unsettling tensions ? Speculative as it may be.....we watch that space with interest and close yet another thread that is Tom.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
