Positive article about Max Gawn

Featured Replies

I found a positive article in regards to Max Gawn and his knee rehabilitation.

I really hope he can fully recover and become our number #1 ruckman at the Melbourne Demons in a few seasons' time.

Here is the article in question:- Gawn's strong resolve

I would also like Max Gawn to aim to become the strongest player at the Melbourne Demons if he builds up in the gym for the whole year. Doing a PE Teaching degree at Deakin University will also keep him busy. ;)

All the best to Max Gawn in his recovery! :)

GO DEMONS IN 2012!

Whilst it is his second knee reco - the report sounds very positive and we can only hope that the big fella comes back strong. Max really looked the goods in 2011. FWIW I sent him a tweet of encouragement this evening.

I guess the report was always going to be positive, or it would not have been posted by the club, but FWIW Max sounds as if he will use the time as best he can to build up physically and mentally.

Looking forward to seeing him preseason 2013. His debut was pretty impressive for a still very young big man. Let us all hope he can recover fully and mak an impact.

Even during his promising AFL debut last season, Max's knee was heavily strapped. Either physically or mentally therefore Max had not fully recovered from his first knee reconstruction. "Nonsense", you say, "it was just a habit or a security blanket of some sort". Well - if he needed a security blanket, then deep down he wasn't confident his knee was OK ...... mentally at least he had not fully recovered.

In the new article, he makes pointed reference to the fact that the surgeon commented that his "knee looked better than ever". Let's hope than when he comes back this time he will have a bigger upper body - and won't need to rely on a knee bandage.

He has huge potential. Players of his his height and mobility can mean the difference between good sides and premiership contenders
