Next week not live on TV

Featured Replies

yes, but other advertisers will just fill the space.

dont watch it and their numbers go down, and then no one wants to buy advertising space then.

Is there anyone in NSW who can put channel 7 on some ustream channel for the match because I am pretty sure it's going live into Sydney.

No... we in Sydney are getting the delayed coverage as well. The reason it's starting at 3pm is because there's live coverage of touring car racing that's timed to finish at 3pm. This isn't the first time that this has happened - I recall a similar situation a few years ago - the difference then was that they went live to the AFL and so we missed almost a full half of the game.

Being a Sunday afternoon game Channel 7 has to play thier mandatory Sunday Afternoon Elvis Presley movie...usually it's Blue Hawaii or It happened at the Worlds Fair..

I'll be in Perth for a wedding so whist working off the hangover i'll watch most of the Dees live then head to Subiaco to watch Freo and the Kangas...

Not a bad sunday coming up!

HaHaHa, fantastic. HeaveHo, HiHo, Freo! :)

To Broadcast in HD costs more money...More Ads. The TV stations only make money during september. The Home and Away they only go close to Breaking even.

So as bad as it is Ch 7 will run ads to the max as much as they liked because the Footy cost them a lot.

The next Broadcast deal could be worse if it hits a $ Billion. (That is a lot of 30 second spots)

Thanks WYL for bringing some knowledge and common sennse to this emotional thread.

I for one DO Not, want Pay TV. It's not what I grew up with and I don't believe its the Austrtalian egalitarian way. There would be many who could not afford to buy pay tv, so would miss many games.

I won't get it on principle, and don't like anything about ch9 anyway. They always white-anted other channels personel and tv shows etc, and try to make themselves out as not only the one, but the only one.. Buying allegences.

I coudn't stand old packer, nor his son.

Now the same goes for e,d. mmm.

here e,d try this, you seem to need it lately! >>> http://www.amiaustra...taxonomy/term/7

Whenever Channel 7 or 10 delay the footy I simply delay it a further 40 minutes and fast forward all their ads and half time coverage. I absolutely refuse to watch ads if they choose to delay the footy. It's that simple.

Channel 9 will be exactly the same as 7 and 10 and frankly I don't think you can blame any of the stations. Imagine paying that much for the rights and then having to telecast the round 1 St Kilda V Geelong game. If that game was live Channel 7 would've lost a fortune 12 goals (6 mins of ads) in 100 minutes of TV/football would destroy any profit.

I remember a similar situation where I tuned into the delayed coverage and for the first half they just ran highlights for 10 minutes then flicked to live coverage when the second half started....

I wonder what sort of TV you get for a lazy Billion?

TV times

Melbourne: Channel 7, 3.00 pm (1 hr delay)

Adelaide: Channel 7, 1.30 pm (live)

NSW: Channel 7, 3.00 pm (1 hr delay)

QLD: Channel 7, 3.00 pm (1 hr delay)

live into adelaide. what a disgrace.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
