@layzie you know how much I dislike the niners but I really felt for you and the others.

Losing Dre was huge. KC hit those area he would have patrolled. Shanahan is like McVay, McVay will call passing plays when the right calls are the run, as you said, 80s vs 120s is insanely big. And with all the blitzes I was expecting a Kittle/CMC screen fest.
I felt similar after the pats loss, I still believe if Kupp didn’t do his ACL we win that game as McVay tried to call the game like Kupp was available.

It really was massive losing Dre. Seeing replays when he was in the game he was flying around in coverage and Burks just wasn't up to filling his shoes.

That shirt pass to the dirt before the FG irks me even more now. You need all those smaller details right when you want to beat Mahomes and Reid and there were just too many situations like this.

Still so numb, hopefully footy comes along and is the circuit breaker.

Rams have gone early, signing Cody Parkinson TE from Seattle and Jonah Jackson G from the Lions, which prob means Avilia will slot over to C for us.

Barkley to the Eagles

Singletary to the giants

Russ Wilson to the Steelers

Josh Jacobs to the Packers  who also get Xavier McKinney

Pollard to the titans

Nabbed Leonard Floyd.

2 years $20m. Love this signing. Doesn't get hurt, gets to the QB and he's better than Gregory, Ferell and maybe Chase Young who will all leave.

Not sure how he'll go in a wide 9 front, I don't believe he's played in one before.

I liked Floyd, he was good for us, now he is a traitorous barstool who was only good cos everyone worried about AD99. 😂

Kirk Cousins to the Falcons, thank God we have a QB! However not sure at his age & coming off an achilles a 4 year deal is all that wise.... He strikes me as a Matt Ryan 2.0

Jimmy G is a Ram…

13 and 3 coz we're with Jimmy G!

Fascinating move, more than capable backup.

Does that mean we can have Carson Wentz now? 😜

I mean I figured we would have just stayed with Wentz, but Jimmy is a step up on recent form. But I also hope to never see him on the field other than when we have won the game so convincing that they take off the starters.

The plus side is that in a good team he's a guy that can win you some games.

You just hope it's not too many where that needs to happen.

Falcons getting a QB with their first pick... WTF? and taking him at 8!!! Don't think he is a pick 8.

Usually so pumped for draft day but February knocked the stuffing out of me. You get to a point where it probably doesn't matter who you draft if you can't make big play calls in big moments.

I do believe we've taken a lineman that can play all 5 spots though, promising.

I'm stoked we took a kicker!

But our first two picks look very good.

Yeah you do. It's not too bad.

Well... I didn't think so.

Rams the likely team to play a game at the MCG in 2025... I will be there!!!

I'll be there too if tickets aren't impossible to get. Been way too long since this sport graced our shores.

Justin Jefferson signs 4yr deal, $140m, $110m guaranteed.

Aiyuk and Lamb are rubbing their hands and turning to their agents and quoting Jerry Maguire.

Tee Higgins signs his franchise tag.

Aiyuk told Jayden Daniels on a video/face time that the Niners don't want him back.

INTERESTING!

  • 4 weeks later...

Aiyuk has requested a trade.

I honestly think thjs is to force the niners hand one way or another, but they have a record of signing their players later into the pre season.

I cant see them letting him go.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
