I have a breakfast/brunch tomorrow morning which will interrupt my play off watching, thank freak for IQ on Foxtel.

Ha! These 2 weeks of Sunday playoff games are brilliant. Perfect times for the games as well. Kicking off at 8.30am is ideal.

I'd keep away from this thread until you've caught up in real time! ^_^

Niners 23. Packers 20

Bengals 34. Chargers 24

Eagles 34. Saints 31

Colts 28. Chiefs 21

Good luck all.

Excellent drive by KC. Hope Charles gets back.

Terrible drop by Richardson - now 24-7 and we've just started the 2nd quarter!

Alex Smith having a good one

The Charles hit didn't look that bad either - maybe when his head hit the ground? Doesn't seem to be effecting KC's scoring ability though.

Yeah they said in the broadcast the medicos believe it is when his head hits the turf.

Have they ever done a study on amount of concussions on artificial turf opposed to grass?

KC are smashing Indi all over the place. Colts will need a big solid first possession in the second have and hold KC to try and get them selves back in the game.

Yep, agreed. Dominant first half by KC. Alex Smith has been super impressive and Andy Reid's influence stands out. KC look really well prepared.

Luck and the Colts have a habit of big comebacks but will the Chiefs let them?

Will keep this brief:

  • Charles - unbelievable. Such an innocuous fall. To lose a guy who will likely be the MVP runner-up in the first couple of minutes of a playoff game is so, so cruel. Maybe he's faking it and we're resting him for Denver though.
  • Maybe it's my pessimism (ably backed up by Charles' injury and the fact we haven't won a playoff game in 20 years), but I don't consider this over. Negative cues I'm wary of: a Davis fumble, Mathis starts to get loose, Indy protects the ball and moves it consistently, putting points on the board.
  • I used the injuries as an excuse on here in the earlier game against San Diego and to a lesser extent a couple afterwards, but Houston and Hali make our D work. We're seeing that today.

Game on and there's plenty of time.

KC need to score on this drive. 38-24 currently

Another turnover leads to a KC field goal. 41-24.

That might be a telling 3pts gained there by the Chiefs.

Wow, what a drive (and finish to the drive with the fumble recovery!) by Luck...

Game on indeed now!

Colts hit the lead - unbelievable! 45 - 44. Been a terrific game despite the turnovers.

If Luck gets them over the line here, it will be yet another huge comeback win. Still hoping for a KC win despite not picking them.

Smith needs to get them in field goal range (at least) That's a good start ...

Can someone please tell me how much we won by? I just got back from booking airfares and tickets to NY for the Superbowl.

Injuries cruelled you and not having Charles late in the game was a major influence on the ultimate result. Still should have won though. However, we at least know that Luck and the Colts have done this sort of thing on a number of other occasions.

If Bowe had somehow got his right foot in bounds on that last drive, you probably win. Fine line. Your team had a terrific year, all the same. Especially from where you were coming from.

Saints getting on top now. Philly have only scored once in nearly 3 quarters - they need to get a hurry on.

20-7 after that TD.

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourne’s response to last week’s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coach’s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast. In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourne’s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.
