Does Fitz get a mention as well?

Ugh... I knew I missed one - there's too many of them now, haha! Apologies to Jack :P

Add a Fitz in there and I think that could be a nice little poll to set up, just for the sake of it.

Done ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong but is there not also a second Viney son a few years younger than Jack who can also play footy at a good standard?

I'd like to hear from those who know the family if this is true and if we could have two father son prospects coming through the ranks.

Sounds like sour grapes to me. It's not as if historically a player hasn't combined being on an AFL list with year 12 studies before and we know that AFL clubs are very careful with ensuring that their young players have a properly measured transition into the game while also concentrating on getting their studies out of the way. I may be wrong on this but I understand that Jack Viney isn't due to be drafted until the end of 2012 which will co-incide with the end of his year 12 studies anyway.

If I'm right then it means that the folk at Adelaide are not only mistaken in those comments but they haven't been showing the proper regard for the youngster's welfare anyway.

Yep, they sound very [censored] off, thought they could get Jack but obviously his old man has wanted him to play for the Demons all along and is just making sure he'll be here to guide him, bonus is we get him back at the club as well

Awesome news, i met Viney few years ago at a Hawks function i was at with my mate and he signed an old dees card which was nice of him, The picture was with long hair and a headband and Damien Hardwick wh was next to him was laughing at how bad his hair was then

Any other potential f/s from other well known dees . Grinter,Lovett,Grigic,Tingay,Febeys?

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
