All Australian Squad

I don't think Johnson deserves to be in at all.

Likewise.

He kicked a lot of his goals in extraordinarily lopsided wins.

Surely, by the same token Podsiadly would be in the squad?

Johnson is there based on reputation.

Agreed. Johnson shouldn't be there, and I'm not just saying that to up Green's chances. He really hasn't had that good a year.

Hell he kicks over 50 goals in the season and features in so many goal assists. He is the trump card in the forward line of an top class team.

Far from reputation getting him there, may be its a case of SJ being consistently outstanding over long period of time.

Defintite claims to AA as much as Green has.

I'd be scared to do that same comparison for Green though...

I haven't got time to do the full comparision, but in the breakdown between wins (including Draw) and losses:

In our 13 Losses Green kicked 31.7.

In our 8 wins and one draw Green kicked 24.20.

That seems pretty consistent to me.

They both have claims: -

Averages comparison for Brad Green V Stevie Johnson

Totals comparison for Brad Green V Stevie Johnson

Deledio is a good chance to get the small defenders role.

Deledio was smashed by Lynden Dunn who kicked 5 goals on him. He has payed OK in other games but he hasn't had an AA year IMO.

Exactly my point HT. B)

He played his worst game for the season in that game. Otherwise he has been a revelation down back for the Tigers. He is in the mix for the small defender role.

Behinds?

That's odd.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
