Jack W's contract, news?

Just wondering what's going on with Watts?

I understand why he didn't sign earlier on, great move personally for him...any news anywhere?

Let's sign him soon.

Been really good this month...despite a relatively low possession output v Richmond I thought his game was actually better than his 27 touches v Brisbane.

Great stuff Jack, coming into his own. (That was a goal on the w/e, we was robbed)

Nothing as yet. Business as usual. Nothing to be concerned about. MFCSS.

End of Story.

Paul Connors was Watts' manager. Has this changed ?

He may have a female working for him, in fact, I know he did at one point. If Paul still manages Watts I very much doubt that anyone other than Paul would be doing the negotiations.

Odd that info is freely bandied about. What sort of manager discusses negotiations?

And going rates for that matter ?

OMG he's going to the Gold Coast@@@@@@!!!!!!!!!

It's laughable that a manager would discuss this sort of thing freely. Not saying it ain't true and you have named names but its not very professional if true.......

As for Rich - he has won a RIsing Star, has played around 40 games and played in finals. He's an integral part of their midfield. Given the club nurtured Jack as a 17yo through school the whole thread seems bollocks to me

Also comparing player payments doesn't really work very accurately as each club has different issues with regards to cap issues and players are at different levels of development.

And going rates for that matter ?

........I think it is either a canny manager who drops a bit of goss knowing it will eventually pop up here...to and be discussed and assuming that somebody from the club will read it, to achieve what I don't know.......or somebody who is very naive and won't last long as a manager......

I do find it a bit stange

I see Jack W's contract as a matter between club & player. This is not the first thread re: Watts and contract.

Personal and behind the scene information should be left to the player, club & player manager. Details as such should remain just that.

I look forward to seeing Jack play this week and beyond.

/thread.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
