Great to see Jim Stynes at the game.

This man has been to hell and back, not only will he save the MFC.

i think the MFC will save him. After the game seeing him the players,

the supporters and hearing that song i thought how good is this

as tears welled up in my eyes.

Yep. I felt the same. His inspirational spirit is going to rub off on us all.

Jim Stynes is on the same Level as Norm Smith as far as the MFC is concerned.

Jimmy came down and sat with the cheer squad every one was so happy to see him. The man had his op only last week and he came down to see his fans what a man.

Superstar - really has given the club a lift

Hearing the crowd cheer and applaud and then seeing Jimmy walk down to the cheer squad with his Dees scarf on - one of the best moments as a lifelong Melbourne supporter. Glad my kids were there to see it - they were just as excited at seeing Jim as seeing the win.

yes i took my girlfriend to the game and we saw jim walk down to the cheersquad with his son. it brought a tear to the eye for both of us. everyone around us fell to a hush and then a cheer - ie "it's jim stynes". talk about a hero - he gave extra significance to the actions of the team on the field. it really puts everything into perspective doesn't it? football is a game that takes up so much of our lives - and yet is essentially just a game - blokes kicking around a football. but football is more than a game for us now in that we have all got to know this inspirational man and his fight to save our club and then to save his own life. i believe he will succeed in both.

Well said my Friend-Thanks to Jimmy we will all continue to watch this great club. The Crowds will come.

Going through the pain of 2009 is now so worth it.

How proud would Jimma have felt today-seeing those young kids start to impose themselves around the ground.

From the MCC Reserve i could hear the cheers but had no idea that Jimmy was there till the end.

Just Great.

Edited by why you little

Seeing Jimmy enjoy the win was as good as the win itself.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
