News Rookies to be included in trade week

Just incase you havent seen it, its up on the AFL website.

THE AFL has moved to allow rookies to be part of trade week to encourage more movement of players between clubs post-season

As part of the changes to the player rules, any rookie player who is included in a trade must be placed on the senior list of the club to which he is traded.

Spencer and Valenti may draw interest, but particularly Valenti.

Personally big fan of his, love how he goes about it hope he stays a demon and is elevated.

Also heres a link to the rules to take place in this years draft..... Let the trade talk begin :P

hmm...gunna make things even more interesting trade week wise. Hang on to your seats folks... This is going to right up there with the Lethal Weapon/Superman Ride !! we wont all come out unscathed !!!

When is the draft this year? Not really the correct thread, but i didnt want to start a new one.

Here's what I was looking for:

Fri, Oct 2, 2pm – Father / son nominations lodged with AFL

Mon, Oct 5, 10am – Father / son bidding meeting (Docklands)

It seems the F/S selections have already been determined by the time trade week starts, therefore making it impossible to trade away your 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick so that when you come to matching a bid for a F/S selection, your 'next available' pick is borderline worthless.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
