In this Mornings Age i read...Carlton on average make 50c per person per game at the Docklands Stadium at the Minute.

Footscray make $1 per person.

WYL - You know how to brighten up peoples morning!

50% descrepancy for the Vi$y FC. Gota love it! I still can't believe more of that ex carlton board member and his dodgey vested interest dealings re AFL/Docklands/Food vendors has not had more air time.

:o I just hope our deal is better with the MCC!

Is the deal with us or the AFL?

As a separate legal entity, MFC are not financial going concern. The AFL would have to acquiensce on any strategic deals I would have thought.

But it would be nice for the MCC to provide MFC with a cosy deal. I am not sure it is as simple as that though.

The Age highlights the incredible financial gulf between the top financial clubs and relative basket cases like MFC.

It is so much harder for MFC to compete against the big boys and its getting harder. If and I hope when MFC wins another flag it will be an incredible battle against steep odds that include finances and season draws

Some clown (Wayne Jackson - ex AFL president) on the radio this morning is running with the story that there are too many teams in Melbourne & therefore, Melbourne & North should merge.

Was this a grand plan by WJ to set up poor Stadium deals, to get rid of Vic teams.

WJ you have no idea of the power of Vic footy supporters. I would guess if we had a choice of merge or die, I would rather die. There is only one MFC, THE D's, the Red legs. I would give up AFL. Shame on you WJ. the AFL my be a business, but the MFC is my life, WJ forgets this that most supporters from all clubs feel the same way. What if MFC had to merge with Eddiewood.

I would have thought now we are re aligned with the MCC (even if it is only on paper( that they would want us to be competitive at the very least.

would certainly hope so otherwise the future is dark. The Stadium deal figures coming out over the last 2 days are a disgrace, those allowing such a situation should be Hung drawn & Quartered.

Hopefully our new CEO will set up a solid on going Contract. Schwabb is a very shrewd business man, but our position will test him right oput.

This deal (in my eyes) has always been symbolic. The word "financial" appears in the agreement, however, the details are not explained. If we ever find ourselves in deep financial strife once again & on the verge of collapse - God forbid - I doubt the MCC would become our white knight!!!

If we ever do find ourselves in deep financial strife it could well be because we do not have a strong deal with the MCG match day $$ Therefore i am hoping the Cricket Club have that in mind.

20% of us MCC Members do Have Red & Blue Blood in our veins & i want a good slice of my subscription to go to the Football club.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
