Family Day 2009

Featured Replies

Robbo and Jamar were on the photo stand, $2 for a polaroid with them and was fantastic value, especially considering what I had heard about Richmond's family day a few months ago.

Noticed the Pies had a photo tent on the news the other night, I might be mistaken but looked like ther were charging $20 for a pic... again I might be mistaken.

Paranoid when drunk? You sure you weren't talking to Mr. Bong before you went Jaded?

So that's what the funny shaped bottle was...

But really I have met people who get paranoid when they are drunk, and start jumping at shadows, therefore the carnival atmosphere (lights, noise, clown faces) might freak them out.

Plus I wouldn't recommend having a drink before you attend any kid-friendly function.

Love the Jared Rivers 'Alive and Kicking' Tracker......very good. Spoke to him, he's all set to go. So.....cross your fingers. And everything else for that matter.

Stkilda had some sort of day as well i saw a quick highlight of on the news. I would say we had 10 to 20 times more people for our media shots and theirs looked empty. Well done to all for marketing, venue etc!

1000 memberships in a day is great. I wonder how many new members for the weekend in total as nearly all the crowd at casey was MFC.

Yes I also saw highlights of what looked like an underwhelming crowd at the Stkilda Family Day , but the accompanying commentary suggested a crowd around 7000 .

Go figure.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
