Seems extortionate but I'm wondering how it compares to the other Slams.

Sorry about the late reply but that's how these other threads work sometimes, GtB!

Did a bit of research and arrived at these figures for day passes for 2025 (converted to Aussie dollars)

Wimbledon $59

French Open $65

Australian Open $59

US Open $215 !!!

I was shocked at the U.S amount but thought Wimbledon would be a lot more expensive

As for the food and drinks pricing, I'd imagine the prices would all be quite expensive at all the venues

So we come out of it quite well, all things considered (especially with the huge improvements to Melbourne Park in terms of accessibility, creature comforts and freedom of movement)

Tickets for the QF's, SF's & Finals would all be very expensive but we are seeing the best in the world at play

WADA has decided to appeal to CAS re the ITIA's decision to clear Jannik Sinner's failed drug test (Steroids) Happening in a few months just prior to the French Open

Most will be familiar with WADA & CAS, but the ITIA is a Tennis  organisation/committee set up by the ATP, WTA & the Grand Slam tournaments to safeguard the integrity of tennis

Sinner could face a ban ranging from 1 month and up to 2 years if found guilty

The Sinner original defence surrounded a cream applied to a cut which contained the anabolic steroid

However, he did fail a drug test on 2 separate occasions with the reading being less than a billionth of a gram.

Effevtive immediately - 3 month ban for Jannik Sinner which allows him to play in the next Slam (French Open)

WADA has formerly withdrawn it's appeal to CAS.  Seems a fair result, all things considered

For the next week and a half the French Open is on every evening on 9Gem from 6.30pm

Aussie Alexie Popyrin (25 seed) will probably lead things off tonight with his 2nd round match-up against Alejandro Tabilo

And the Demon (de Minaur) got through his first round match last night in straight sets

On the Women's side Aussie Ajla Tomljanovic is up against the 4 seed Jasmine Paolini

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
