Sorry WYL.

"Geeper" is the affectionate nickname Jimmy gave to one G Lyon.

So Garry & Viney had a falling out hey, [censored] The club is bigger than one man. I Hope stynesy or Schwabb can do something to help reconsile the situation. To regain or MCC affiliation & to regain Vineyin the space of 1-2 years would be brilliant

HT,

I can't be specific in terms of timelines, but it comes from someone who knows them both reasonably well.

How can we let him slip pasty us like that, would be perfect fit for Dees assistant considering the Hawthorn experience.

SHAME SHAME SHAME

Has signed with Adelaide for 09 and beyond

he is from adelaide and the official line is he wanted to return home for 'family reasons'. not much we can do about that.

As much as we'd love to have a club champion back in the fold, we don't have the money to be splashing around on assistant coaches. I doubt he'd be on peanuts at Adelaide.

I heard on the news earlier today that he has signed on as an assistant coach with the Crows. Like many I was hopeful he could find he was back to us but I guess the timing wasn't right for us. Our coaching group probably deserves a second year together.

I understand that he was contracted to Hawthorn for the 2009 season but sought a release so that he could go back to SA for family reasons. If that is the case, he would not have been coming to us next year.

In relation to our coaching group, does anyone know if Paul Williams will be part of the coaching group? I believe his contract was due to finish this year. If so, I suspect Bailey may want to appoint someone of his choosing.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
