Hello fellow Melbourne supporters,

It is really important that we get to the game to celebrate what has been a fantastic career by one of the best players to throw the Melbourne guernsey on, David Neitz! The man has broken his fair share of records over his long and illustrious career and will never be forgotten. He has also lead the team to extremely well through the good and the bad. I'm sure that the players are pumped to play the game for the captain that has been there for a very long time, in fact a lot of the players will have only ever played under Neita.

Come one, come all to the G on Sunday. We might be against pretty stiff opposition but its what a champion like Neitz deserves.

I will be there and i'll be bringing as many as i can, so that Neita can be given the respect he deserves.

I think a few of us are going to be there. Especially for Nieta & as support for the team following the Jeff Kennett crap.

Our captain is retiring after years with the club, and people still have problems spelling his name .... hope if the banner pays a tribute on Sunday they spell his name correctly. NEITZ/NEITA !!!!

I agree. Everyone is going to be watching us fellow supporters on sunday to see if we turn out. If we don't we will be bagged and I'm sick of people bagging our team. Neitz deserves to be farewelled in style. Neitz will want to be waving to melbourne supporters not hawthorn. So turn up. It's also our home game. Quite clearly we need the money.

Hello fellow Melbourne supporters,

It is really important that we get to the game to celebrate what has been a fantastic career by one of the best players to throw the Melbourne guernsey on, David Nietz! 'Becks' you are going to have to do the farewelling for me......I have to work. :o

Make sure you give him the send off he deserves.

If I don't see fans crying on the fence and tears in the old warhorse's eyes I will be disappointed.

Hopefully the team can salute too.

Go Dees - Do it for Neita

If you make an active decision not to go on the weekend, that's an indictment on you as a supporter of this fantastic club. I wouldn't care if we were playing against Heaven's 22, i'd still be there.

I want to see a sea of Demon flags to send off a true champion.

Well I said at the start of the season that I couldn't buy a membership but i'd be at every game I could. I've been to most (not Geelong, Brisbane or Adelaide) and for f*cks sake i'll be there Sunday. Buddy may rip us apart but there's no way i'm letting our captain leave the team without my screaming thankyou. The Carltank match was no way to go, but if any Melbourne member/suppoter/sympathiser can be there, cheer a champion. We don't see men like Neitz very often.

Also, as a question... has anyone in recent memory lead their team to a GF berth on their debut season as captain? Just wondering... thanks Neita.

Seriously tearing up as I'm reading this. Going to be a very hard day on Sunday. Will need to pack ridiculously- oversized sunglasses.. :(:(

I will be there.

Unlike Demonlands resident clown, 'realist'. But what do you expect from someone that buys a pet membership for themselves cos they dont want to fork out for a normal one.

I'm away in the NW of WA for work so I will miss the game and I'm so [censored] off about it.

I hope everyone who can, will be their to cheer off this true legend.

David Nietz the absolute legend.

Bye skip!

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
