well done to the big lad, i think he could pay on next year as well as he hasnt missed a game since round 1 2004 ,

only A few more games to jim stynes record, could reach by the time he is 40:P

Much maligned because much is always expected of him. I really hope he gets to play 300 games.

On ya Jeff. Still a flag left in you mate. Heard his interview on SEN the other morning

Make no mistake Jeff White wants to Hold that Grail Thing we all aspire to!

Happen to be on the flight home with the team today......Jeff had a fairly pronounced limp to his walk.......hope he butters up for next week......wonder how Warnock's head is after that leap by the bird man....i was sitting right there behind the goals on level 1........he had his name written all over it before it was even kicked to him.......Warnock had no idea......

Warnock had no idea......

I only watched it on TV, but it didn't seem like he could do much - the ball was put on his head.

My Favourite Player on the list that just does not Deliver he has all the skill and courage but no killer I would describe Him as a nothing player look at his mistakes he is amongst the highest how many games recently has he been in the best none every news interview he states I am still improving but this is not the case against every time he goes on the Ball we

loose the ascendancy anmd boy what about the clangers a classic yesterday holding the ball and again handpassing to the opposition 3 times for all his experience he just does enough my only wish is that he is traded at the end of this season and make way for Natuini Warnock and Johnson then we may impose ourselves on games it all starts in the middle havent we noticed that P Johnson is a better ruckman than Geoff he works a lot harder

His being a great servant and a fantastic player pre '05 but if we land Warnock, White's done. Don't know where his contract is but he shouldn't get another contract from MFC.

Yes i know but the center line sure hasn't helped his cause

Has been a great servant to the club and as such deserves the congratulations for reaching 100 consecutive games this week......

So well done Jeff for this and the multiple other milestones he has and could well still achieve.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Melbourne and Hawthorn who face off against each other this week have more in common than having once almost merged and about to wear a blue jumper with a red v triangle and an embroidered picture of a bird on the front. They also share the MCG as their main home ground, their supporters are associated with the leafy suburbs of Melbourne and in recent times, James Frawley graced the colours of both teams. Even more recently, both have bounced back from disastrous five game losing streaks to start off a season. Of course, the Hawks turned their bounce into a successful leap from the bottom of the ladder into a finals appearance, making it to the semifinals in 2024 and this year, they’re riding high in third place on the AFL table. The Demons are just three games into their 2025 bounce back, and are yet to climb their way out of the bottom four although they are sitting a game and percentage out of the top eight. However, with the current sportsbet odds of $3.90 to win this week’s encounter, it seems a forlorn hope that their upward progression will continue much longer.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
