I only saw short snipets but what i did see looked a little like a version of the old Clarkson cluster but with extra numbers behind the ball.  The zone starting more around mid field and behind rather than most of the field under the 2008 version.

Snuffed out the ability of GWS sling shotting off HB and easily hitting up leading targets as in recent weeks.

When the Hawks got it they then switched to possession/momentum mode with accurate kicking across HB on switch etc.  At one stage late in the last quarter they had racked up 97 marks just for that quarter!

Strangulation of GWS possession.  Insane control of possession when they had it.  Mind you the GWS pressure or willingness too close up on an opponentn when Hawk's had possession game going looked pretty ordinary from where i was sitting.

My wife, a hawks supporter attended the match and said they refused to chase or tackle hard enough, allowing the Hawks to possess the ball. They were looking for the easy ball and made no attempt to change their game plan. Thought they would just walk away with an easy win. Hard to know where the Giants are at.

Ablett with elbows up again. Did anyone see it? Looks similar to last week, the ball was well gone and he definitely went the man.

Yes had a look at it twice. He jumped off the ground to put two arms across the players face running past. An almost exact replication of last week’s assault on Shiels, so it must be unintentional again and low impact so we move on?

Oh and his exemplary record will stay intact I suspect.

anyone care to guide through why our i50's are so poor?

Can’t kick straight for goal from set shots or snaps

cant kick to a target inside 50

cant kick to the advantage of a leading forward

Ball carrier tends to just bomb long from outside 50m

very few forwards lead toward the ball carrier

and when they do we kick it over their head

no crumbing forwards who make position or have goal sense

Melksham doing time in the midfield

    Jeffy dropping easy overhead marks

need two key targets who separate in the forward 50. Where is Pruess?

Other than that I can’t workout why we are crap!

By the way:  Where did Keilty play, he seemed to be in the ruck or on the bench?

Very very glad Keilty retained his spot, hopefully he can get onto the end of a couple of decent kicks this week and showcase his true strength as a Forward.

How many minutes did Keilty spend forward last week? I was at the game and he seemed to be on the bench or in the middle for a good part of the second half?

  5. So he gets off because it was not intentional! Well what was he doing then? He did not need to make contact with the Essendon Player as I saw it. It wasn’t vicious by any means but it seemed deliberate contact to me.

Happy for him to get off based on his exemplary record but really to overturn the MRP must give Christian the Shytes.

Trac's set shot goal kicking needs to be seriously addressed by the club. It's simply not good enough. I can't just be a confidence thing. He has a beautiful kick on the run.

On That shot on goal on the weekend, I said at the time watching it live I was amazed he even made contact with the ball. I haven’t watched it again but I think he was spinning it in his hands then dropped it from too high and the wrong angle onto his boot. And we saw the result, a wobbly floater.

What happened to simplicity? Just drop the ball from a low height or better place it onto your foot as many indigenous players seemingly do to devastatingy effect.

These people are full time professionals so there are few excuses for this [censored].

ill be on the goldy  - looking forward to banking some sweet sweet % this week... last time was a 15 goal win right...achievable?

I wouldn’t bet on that. Hey, your avatar, is that Kelly Slater pulling out of a wave at Bells last week?

Apart from that horrible set shot, Petracca has looked dangerous all game.

He’s got the yips when the pressure is on. Needs a psychologist for his goal kicking.

With that ball drop he did well to make contact!

    My Dear Earl

I'm sure you understand there was nothing personal in my denial and subsequent shunning of you.

It's just that that scheme of selling alpaca wool mittens into South East Asia that you conned   persuaded me into did cost me a rather exorbitant sum. A sum that, by coincidence I'm sure, would be approximately the price of your rather gaudy vehicle.

Ah well … let bygones be bygones I say.

Perhaps an invite to sample your sommelier's choice and the licence to indulge in some of the other "offerings" at your Fitzroy pleasure palace might be a step toward restoring good relations.

    Cordially

    Your forgiving Uncle

    Bitter.

    Dear Uncle

i am sorry I am not living at my Fitzroy address as I suspect you may already know! My inner city warehouse was invaded back in February this year by the Special Operations Group on an anonymous tip-off about synthetic drugs. The damage done is still being dealt by my insurance people, trade persons and talented designers. I am currently living in witness protection down on the Surf Coast!

Agree with most of your post 'It's' but the whole of the FD including the head should be reviewed.

I would think a review by someone with experience from outside the club will be called for...

    Gary Lyon then??

Red, unlikely as it seems, I don't think the MFC can be blamed for the death rate during the Indonesian election.

My best guess, is that either a cyclone has wiped out the banana crop or Earl Hood has skipped off with the entire banana crop to sell at extortionate prices in Australian supermarkets and greengrocers. People like Earl always turn someone else's misfortune into an opportunity to make money.

    Catch 22.

Without the nutrients of the humble banana, the Indonesians have been dropping like flies.

Perhaps we can contact Earl and get him to send a truck of bananas down to AAMI Park for our poor players.

Please Ernest I can’t be blamed for this catastrophe! These days I keep a low profile just trying to help those less fortunate than myself. As you know I was lately vilified by the Banking Royal Commission where my greatest contributions to neoliberal finance which had gained me admission to the International Bankers Hall of Fame, the Laurie Connell award for financial acumen no less, were trashed in full view of everyone as being borderline criminal! Please!

I mean I pioneered the concepts of “fee for no service” and “life insurance for dead people”. These new financial services revolutionised the industry. But now no thanks to Justice Kenneth Hayne AC, QC, my name is mud amongst my former financial and political peers.

You soon learn who your real friends are after such a fall. Do I hear from Uncle Bitter these days? Oh no, he denied my very existence three times after Haynes final report. And as for Daisycutter and Moons, enough said!

These days I distribute bananas to the poor from my bananamobile!

If Frost ran through the midfield on a Cripps or Fyfe they’d have 60 & kick 6. The answer to the original question is Frost is delisted at seasons end. He’s not up to it in defence or forward and certainly isn’t a midfielder . As soon as Lever & May are fit it’s OMac & potentially Petty playing for th 3rd tall if required

At this stage I disagree with any talk of delisting Frost. We turned over about a third of our list last year after finishing 4th! Not saying they were all wrong but we now struggle for depth so we don’t have the luxury of dumping guys like Frost just yet. Unless we have identified better replacements from other clubs.

yes Frost is not a natural footballer, he is an athlete and a quite extraordinary one at that,  big, strong and fast and he can catch a ball and he can kick it long. Just not a lot of finesse.

at the moment we need him down back but if Lever and May come back, can we potentially use him elsewhere? If not the midfield, what about the wing where he can chase and block the opposition transition? Geelong have developed Bliscalvs in that role. Does he have more footy I Q?

To stress I am not saying this is ideal, it is just trying to make full use of what limited resources we have.

  13. He should be part of our outside run and class to compliment the inside dominance of Oliver, Brayshaw and Viney. For some reason we haven’t developed a game plan to make this possible. Instead we have Jones and Lewis playing wing, tried then dropped Stretch after one game? I think Tracc should start on the wing, go into the midfield for short bursts. Being on the wing means he can drift forward as well.

Who knows if this will work, we know the kid has plenty of talent but how do we give him the best chance to realise it?

Did he ever get physically checked-out by our medical team, prior to recruitment? If not, absolutely irresponsible on our part. We need a reliable forward so that Tom McD can play back - or find another Danny Hughes. There must be one somewhere in the bush or provincial leagues?

Another Anthony Ingerson would be even better!
