Biff we all know we need to bring back Workchoices mark 2. If we can just take the big stick to the SPC types, the cleaners who cant speak english well, the casual workers, I reckon we turn the whole economy around. I am sure the employer associations, with all their experience and knowledge, could not be wrong. They would know the real reasons why we struggle in so many industries. Nothing to do with the high dollar, under investment in capital improvement, f*** all investment in skills and training, f***all innovation, leadership and whatever. This is what is holding us back, these semi skilled fat cats!

Good heavens DL Is that Scott Morrison on the right? In my report in post 301 of the Carbon Tax thread on my failed mission to Canberra in January to talk sense to Morrison, I saw such a strange device in Morrisons office.
-
Robbie what about this! You wouldn't guess it's me would you. The Hood master of disguise!
-
I am happy to stand by my comments. It's a cheap shot. And by the way my name is not hoody, I am The Hood, arch criminal, master of disguise and the nemesis of certain International Rescue organisations!
-
Great to see whatever low life (liberal?) that put that together was happy to gloat on the tragic deaths of those people off Christmas Island in a cyclone for a cheap shot at Bill Shorten. Thanks for that Robbie!

Thousands?

DC i don't know I am still lying down thinking of England. You'll have to give me some time. I am desperately awaiting advice from Lord Weaver. Is he anywhere to be seen, my eyes are failing me!
-
DC at this stage I believe we need LordWeaver to step in and provide advice. God knows we need someone to lead us into the promised land!

Can we also add the excizing of some 74,000 hectares of forest from the Tasmanian World Heritage protection zone to now be available for logging, no doubt. After years of negotiation to bing the loggers and Greens to the table and an agreement, truce, reached just last year, now G Hunt had opened up the war again. Well done Greg. By the way does anyone know the economics of old goeth logging these days? Last time I heard every log harvested was subsidised by the State Government. Time to look at that industries funding.

If priests and other Christian people such as brothers and nuns, all the religious orders who represent, manage and lead don't represent the Christian religion? i think you should cut the Islam religion some slack, don't you think. If you are going to start on the actual words of both religions you will find they are very similar. How those words are interpretated will differ across time and place. So you need to delve a bit deeper into the detail to reinforce your opinions. That is all. Stereotyping doesn't help anyone.

Gee most of the comments in my post deal with the past 40 years or so. By the way do you often find yourself surrounded by idiots at social functions? Just wondering!
-
You are serious? I could start at the Crusades, work my way through the Spanish Inquisition and colonial conquests in the New World all the way to the modern day and the current Royal Commission into child abuse that has shocked everyone. The Christian religions have been up to mischief for centuries. I am not saying Islam is all that better or worse. The problem is organised religions in general. The older I get the more I believe they bring more trouble than whatever good they may deliver. A few years ago we thought Christian organisations did a lot of good caring for children in orphanages, parishes and schools, now we have our doubts. Note the poster is a baptised Catholic and was educated by the Christian Brothers. I got through that experience unscathed apart from fairly regular strappings. Others suffered much more, some have suicided since. On reflection there were some inspirational brothers but there also some sadists, religious nutters and the pure evil.

Anyway back to Tony Abbott. The more he talks about good guys and bad guys in Syria and the need for the ABC to rigorously pursue the truth but also back the home team and ignore the likes of spying allegations concerning Austalia and on and on; the more I believe Ronald Reagan still walks amongst us, but now he is wearing a bright blue tie.

The fence DC, get off the fence mate. The splinters must be annoying by now?

Hannibal I ask because the same denial tactics are being used in the climate debate as was used in the tobacco debate through the 60's to the 90's. the same think tanks are at work often involving the same spin doctors. It is all about vested interests with money and influence using all their powers to sow doubt, challenge scientists, and doctors at every turn to buy time for them to turn a profit. At the moment we have huge vested interests with billions invested in coal or gas determined to sow doubt in the science at least long enough for them to get this out of the ground and sell it at a profit. Of course the billions at stake would not lead the small number of billionaire owners to play games, no it's the peanuts in Government grants available to thousands of scientists that leads them to collaborate in a massive warmest fraud across the Globe and onto the UN. That is why I ask such stupid questions Hannibal!!
-
Hannibal I have asked this before of you but no answer. Is the science in yet on tobacco smoking and lung cancer, in your opinion?
-
Yes this was very common in the Catholic Church, priests moved on at short notice to new parishes, often just one step ahead of the authorities. No doubt the need to save souls was variable, the devil could appear any where at anytime.
-
Yes LW and DC what would Father Peter make of all these allegations I wonder? If I remember correctly LW Father P was a master at massage for the YCW footballers, in fact he extended your career by many seasons I believe with his magical hands, well anyway he extended something.
-
LW Just wondering what your watering the grass with! I have my suspicions. Sacrificial wine is quite acidic you know!
-
Hannibal Lets do it now. Hire a cruise ship and send it up to Indonesia to take on board refugees and process them there and then. Those that meet refugee status we take or distribute to other partner state we have negotiated with. I think Malcolm Frazier has advocated this approach in recent times, although perhaps without the boat. You would be up for this Hannibal because your only concern is about legitimate refugees drowning at sea, otherwise you are happy for all to come here, yes?

Amen Brother!

Feet only work successfully in tandem! One on their own is like Abbott with no Costello, Groucho with no brothers, Barry Gibb on his own, Stanly, no Laurel, Moe, no Larry or Shemp! Where do I stop?

Latest from Tony at Davos. The GFC never happened, just a beat up by some left wing bleeding hearts. Audience reaction was muted as most slept through it. Those who stayed awake wondered why he was talking to them like they were half wits!

Training - Wednesday, 22nd January, 2014
Earl Hood replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Why do I keep thinking this is Henri Lecont commentating on MFC's training? Henri is supposed o be over the road at the tennis at this time. -
DC I do have a life that is quite varied and productive thanks. And I do gain energy from robust debates. My takes on Tony don't take up that much of my time because he is such a sitting target. I don't have to spend too much time researching data trying to analyse his decisions. I mean it is a matter of debating three word slogans, stereotypes and prejudices with our Tony. By the way at least I haven't got splinters up my arse from sitting on the fence on so many subjects, in let's wait and so the outcomes from Gonski etc! Come on DC where's your passion? What do YOU believe in? By the way one of my passions is tennis and Roger is on fire against Murray. Sublime stuff!
