In my opinion until we get rid of Schwab we are always going to be average. For a guy whose been a CEO for years only twice has the team he's working for made the finals. He causes friction amongst players and footy department, if wasn't for the thrashing by Geelong in 2011 and Jimmy passing away he would be gone. lts a well known fact Jimmy wanted him out but Garry Lyon, who IMO should stay out of running of the club, said no Bailey was enough to go at the time. l wish Bailey had stayed until the end of the year and Schwab went then.
Now let me see Dave.
You've mentioned something that happened 15 months ago. Is there anything specific you can point to that he's done since then that you can point to that backs up your theory

Isn't this why they went for Lynch? An each way bet on rucking and forward.
Lynch may or may not fit the bill as a forward/ruckman but if Jolly falls over he can't fill the role of #1 ruck. Can anyone imagine him against Cox or Sandilands?

He was blind....to the point he was unable to inform a cab driver of his residential address, yet refused to leave the cab.
... a bit like the way he plays ...

Just looking at the delisted players from other clubs and I can't see many who attract my attention. One of these is about as much as I think we can take.

Significant that this bloke enters the final year of his current contract and the end of a decade at the club.
I hope for his sake that he accepts that he is running out of opportunities and that he might look back one day on his entire career and realise that in many ways it's been a failure. I know he had injuries this year but he has to do more than show glimpses of talent and nothing else. He can either adopt the approach Nathan Jones has taken in recent times and knuckle down and work his butt off to become elite or follow Beamer out the door at the end of the year.

To understand the good doctor's post and that of B-H and Goodvibes is to understand the enormity of the task facing Mark Neeld and his new regime in the post Daniher/Bailey era.
It will also help us understand many of the changes in playing personnel that are taking place and why it was so essential to instal a new leadership group right from the get go.

Denham has a problem with CS, he needs to clear the air on this and not hide behind a campaign to smear the entire club. Come on Greg get some balls and tell us what the real issue is.
If Denham is in fact involved in a vendetta against our club because of his hatred of Cameron Schwab or the current board then he has an ethical problem that needs to be dealt with by his editors and himself. If there is a conflict of interest which is colouring the way he presents news and opinion it does him and his newspaper no good whatsoever. The example in the OP has made him look like an idiot.

So it's Jeremy Howe and Temper Trap. The Dees are all over this grand final.

There are some big queries about whether Clint can come back from his injury which is a tough one.
Good luck.

This bloke must be the closest we have to an A grader and I'm sure if he was strutting his stuff as a member of one of the sides playing today at the G, that's exactly what they would be saying.

As the grand final starts sliding away from the Hawks and the rain begins to fall, I start wondering what would happen if they lost. Would they get involved in the trades/FA to cover some of the deficiencies uncovered in the second quarter?

Reminder: We at Melbourne are OPEL and not that inferior brand of vehicle from Germany.
VWs are more at home in western Sydney.

They all said he was leaving Collingwood and quite a few Magpie fans told me he was as good as gone to Carlton.
However, it would seem that he will stay and sign a new five year contract with Collingwood in the next few days if we can believe the Herald Sun.
This still leaves them with some dilemmas apart from having the old man around the joint for the next half decade.
How do they pay their other uncontracted players going forward?

Viney won't play.
He would have been eligible but decided to concentrate on playing for the Casey Scorpions and his school team.

But I thought that if you picked an international player it was in addition to your standard list so it doesn't cost you a draft pick. Therefore, it really is a matter of deciding whether it is worth the cost and not a matter of missing out on talent from the usual sources.Unfortunately, I think going for international recruits is somewhat of a luxury, the type of thing you would do if you had a strong list and were able take a punt on your rookie pics
I feel we will be trying to recruit football players (WAFL, SANFL & VFL) with these sort of picks, so have no room for speculative guys from overseas.
I don't resent the club for this, as I'd be p1ssed if the recruiters were looking for talent overseas when we struggle to make the most of the National Draft as it is!

Shameful.

Bendigo Gold... Absurd!
Not so absurd when you consider Bendigo's famous for gold mining.

He sounds like he's got a torn labrum due to a hip impingement. That shouldn't affect his speed, but he could be protecting it.
Of itself, a torn labrum would not affect his speed but there are circumstances where it would such as if he feels pain or simply, the psychological aspect of fearing possible pain or additional damage. If the player did have good speed and/or endurance prior to the injury then it's reasonably certain that he will not lose these attributes once he recovers from surgery. Based on that I would not put him in the same category as Jack Trengove who also appears of late to be hampered by injury and who is not known anyway for his pace but has good endurance (like his sister who is an Olympic distance runner). Even with his injury, Toumpas appears to have better pace. However, in SA he is, like Trengove, renowned for his leadership capability.

I reckon we realised at half time when the free kick count was 1 - 21 just how far Vlad's testicles tentacles can spread.

Watching them warm up cant see blease out there, Strauss looks sharp!
Blease wasn't selected for Casey.

Article in the local Leader Newspaper from Port Melbourne - Rare loss for Borough. Hardly mentions the winning team.

Friend of a friend is dev coach at gws. Told me scully was told 'you're going to be a good player, but we can make you better quicker'. I assume from being tagged, exposure etc...bad advice I reckon. Will be run ragged by 25...also, they don't want to win a game this year, maybe one. They couldnt care less. Its not about the next few years. They will stockpile talent and top draft picks until they're ready...as a fan of the game, how awful does that sound
The problem with that is that they will find it difficult to develop a culture of success and many players' careers will be spoiled in the process.

Mods can delete this if they wish, but I'll post a story about little Tom.
That celebrity fatty show filmed a segment at GWS training, and Tommy was supposed to run at/through Dipper after a Dipper challenge, I'm told Tom "squibbed it", and Dipper proceeded to take the urine (in a jocular way) calling Tom a [censored] and such.
Tom completely cracked the shizzles and stormed off. He had to be apologized for.
I'm told sadly that won't go to air.
I wouldn't run through Dipper either, at any weight, but what a joyless little boy Tommy is.
Probably had flashbacks of bouncing off Phil in the back yard whenst trying to grab a sausage.
If that story is right I would suggest that young Voldemort is held is lower esteem atm by his current teammates than by his former ones.

That may be so but the AFL allowed precedents to be set by clubs as to the sort of behaviour that was frowned upon and by allowing clubs like Carlton to repeatedly "experiment" in games that led to them losing and picking up better draft picks, it set the standards that applied and therefore defined any improper behaviour in this area.
If Melbourne is guilty of anything as a result of this investigation them the AFL leadership would have to go.
Doubly so for discriminating in this wider investigation against Melbourne and in failing to go after other clubs like Carlton. Where was the investigation after Fevola virtually admitted why he was left out of the Carlton team in the latter stages of 2007 including the disgraceful "Kreuzer Cup".
