  1. dude i will still be around to take my medecine you should not really be worried about that loss half you team was out and the good ones mainly

also it is crannypete witha c r not fannypete that is a bit rude and mean

We all know that trolls are cowards and crannypete is a good example. He's been hanging around the other sports and general discussion board but only came out of the closet when Hawthorn beat the Melbourne B side and only after it put up the shutters 40 minutes early. Had nothing to say in the lead up to the game.

Why don't you go back to posting on Hawk Headquarters where you'll have a more sympathetic audience cranny?

  2. u cant wrap players in wool. You can play them or not. If u do, they get game time. If u dont they are of a less risk of injury. No point getting angry about what hasnt happend. Its like a new footy. U can wrap it in wool and never use it, our u can take it out, have a risk of getting some scratches on it and having some fun. Otherwise i dont see the point of them playing footy, just wrap them in 'cotton wool'.

Nonsense! The suggestion was to keep a player who suffered a minor injury in an exhibition game in early February in "cotton wool for at least a week to make sure that the ankle settles down". We're not playing for sheep stations at this time of year and there's nothing wrong with making sure your player is being well rested.

In fact, that is exactly what they apparently did with Davey today for simulated match practice at Moorabbin.

  3. UM...........Wrong John Elliott mate - I did get a shock when I read the headline this morning but it is not THE John Elliott we all know - a very very sad story all the same - I actually couldn't read it all.......

Yeah. I know it's the wrong John Elliott. That's why it's getting worse and worse for the poor buggers!

  5. I feel filthy

But also happy I was born a Demon, and not a Tiger

    You know what?

I had been getting a bit sick of reading pre season training reports because most of them at this time of the year are looking at their clubs through rose coloured glasses. I think we would be much better off asking someone who supports a club other than Melbourne to go and have a look at our training and vice versa with the opposition clubs. The reports would be more interesting!

(no offence to WJ, Decoy and George at Demonology)

  7. I've practised Hatha Yoga for years - great for all-round well-being and should help any footballer maintain general flexibility and health.

As for kicking accuracy, not so sure. But if they practice any form of meditation with the Yoga (and I know some footballers do ) this should help concentration and thus maybe accuracy!

I was being facetious with the line about the kicking.

Godders has been doing it for three years and it hasn't helped him!

  8. A wonderful sentiment condemned, but if this did happen next year, i'm afraid that i would already be in tears and overrun with emotion, let alone the heart attack i would probably have when the siren goes.

The heart attack would be worth it!

    Go Dees!!!

Go Broady and thank you Demonland for dedicating the day to Troy.

  9. JAG said:

I read on the official MFC web site that training was scheduled for Monday 18/12, Victoria Park 10.00am.

    Did any one get along?

They usually go there for interclub practice matches, I would have thought that it was a bit early in the pre-season for that.

There's a report and photos on Demonology.

The gist of the report from MK08 was:-

    * a few players on rehab and a few absent

    * Clint Bizzell is flying, looks fit and a stood out as a player who wants his spot back

    * Lynden Dunn moves well, has good hands and was very impressive.

    * Beamer did the whole session at top pace - great news!!!

    * As has been mentioned in other reports, Simon Buckley has put on lots of muscle and now has the body of an AFL footballer.

    * Juice Newtown was the FF for the whole session - perhaps the next Neitz

    * Godders and Miller still can't kick!

    * Leading in skills are Yze and Johnstone with Davey, Green close behind.

    * Doggy has the best voice out on the track and is worth his spot on the list for team morale itself.
