  1. I just hope if he leaves, his new club gets the James Frawley of 2014, drifting in and out of games, fumbling at the most inappropriate times, playing the game on his terms and not those that make his team better and seemingly conflicted mentally. His leadership on field has been virtually non existent.

Having said that I like Chip and would like him to stay but he has not offered us a lot this season and has let himself and the club down with his actions and words both on and off the field.

We will be worse off in the short term if he leaves but life will go on and sometimes the best thing to do is keep focused on the big picture, which may be enhanced as a result of him leaving.

  2. He was excellent for the first three quarters, completely shut out a player who has been average at best all season.

His last quarter was terrible and finished with his young inexperienced opponent kicking the final two goals through rudimentary mistakes.

If he wants to see where this club is heading before making up his mind, he should accept he is as much a part of the problem as anyone involved.

Our experienced leaders should not be making these errors, especially one who wants the kind of money he is looking for.

  3. Stringer kicking 4 goals as a developing player, meanwhile Toumpas is playing off the extended bench in the rabble at Casey. It wasnt only Wines we missed but we have also seen Stringer Grundy Wines Vlastuin Mcarae ect all tearing it up now.

Dumbest quote of the season, none of them with the exception of Wines have torn it up. They have simply shown some improvement, which is hardly tearing it up.

  4. Amazing to think people are still willing to cut slack to players such as Blease, Strauss, Tapscott, Evans etc. because of previous injuries, yet are all over a kid who required operations to both hips only 12 months ago. We want a successful club but don't seem to want to take the time and effort to get there, clubs like Hawthorn and Sydney put their kids into the seconds for a couple of years to develop properly, so when they do come in they fit in seamlessly.

Some of the post's on here have become embarrassingly ignorant.

  5. Brayshaw, Petracca and Ahern all looked like they will become good AFL midfielders.

Stretch has started pretty well for SA, touted as a second round father son by Kevin Sheehan, who also proclaimed that as a win for MFC.

He also stated he will be a 200 game player for whoever drafts him.

  6. Both clubs are at the top of most free agents list of potential homes due to their prolonged success and constant ability to appear in finals and blockbuster games.

This will continue to ensure neither club will fall to far from the pointy end of the ladder.

Another raging success from the decision makers at the AFL.

  7. I am concerned that some aspects of his game have not improved, especially decision making and disposal.

Not yet at wrist slashing point but hoping he can pick this up like a good player would.

  8. Many seem to forget that we signed a long term contract ( 30 years iirc ) with Casey.

Before we all jump up and down about the way to go, be aware that Box Hill won the VFL flag with a similar arrangement to what we have with Casey.

Perhaps we should try working harder to improve both clubs before we look to spend the kind of money we don't have to break away.

We have hardly been an ideal partner for them either, making finals and withdrawing all AFL listed players for surgery etc. is not the actions of a caring, sharing partner.

    Knee jerk reaction at best.

  9. Yes I do, & also the Hawks at the moment, after a great period of list management & an extremely well run club,, could succeed thru playing they're Reserves in the Gobi-Desert competition.

... and they are virtually the one club, spiritually. & a very strong 'decades long' communal link. they are pretty much an independnt VFL team, apart from the name.

We are Melbourne, from inner Melbourne; looking for a home base, & playing with a foreign VFL club, running it ragged, & searching to find our own Identity, miles from our home areas.

.... No problems in expanding out to the Sth-East, great Idea... but not at the expense of an existing VFL sides identity. We should form our Own, & let the Scorps look after they're own interests & Identity.

I don't want to go to games in the future, thinking we swallowed the Scorpions like a Boa-Constrictor, after slowly strangling them to death over a decade.

.... We need a clear conscience moving forward, with out the Blood of the 'Scorps' on our hands; the results of the former boards & administrations thinkings.

The people of the 'Scorps'; & the Casey region, & Greater Gippsland, deserve a better start to a partnership than the way this is happening currently.

    * Separate now, & form our own Identity, with the Demons monika & nickname, on Our jumper, & a theme song to Our Club Music, with possibly modern VFL words that represent us & the South-East.

Don't leave it too late as we normally would do... Conservatively, we are always the last to jump, & its always become low tide when we finally take a plunge.

    .

If we walk away now we will definitely have their blood on our hands, the Scorps would not exist for long if we just default on our contract.

We do not currently have the means to have our own side and Casey certainly could not exist long without us.

As things currently stand we need Casey and Casey need us, the sooner we all accept this and work towards making this successful the better off we will be.

  10. Longmire has said he would have received a call up if he was not currently injured.

Would be a good pick up but I doubt Sydney would let him go cheaply as he would be viewed as one of their next generation blue chippers.

  11. We do have coaches who have a significant input at Casey, they just aren't head coach.

I'll remind you that the team we played today and won the flag last year, is not a stand alone team.

The real problem with Casey is the quality of their VFL players, they are struggling for money and their better players have left for greener pastures.

How about "Watts was good". He made a mistake at the end but so did lots of our players, it was a great game for us, get off his back!

Agree he was pretty good today and is far to harshly judged by many.

    We won just enjoy it.

  13. Hope Frawley has a mirror when he is contemplating where we are heading as a footy club, he has given us nothing for sometime.

Players that question where the club is going before signing, then proceed to drag the club backwards through their own inadequacy are a joke.

  14. The 'harm minimisation' you speak of held them to 8 goals. It's a defensive basis to a developing game plan. The same one that Sydney and Fremantle use, but with years more familiarity, and a few more stars. Swan has been down on form recently, and Dan Cross played him tight and hard. Cloke was beaten by McDonald, and got some brilliant service in the second half from their midfielders.

To say we were meek is to disrespect the defensive effort that they couldn't match with confidence, speed and polish going inside 50.

Remember last year? Which version do you prefer? I know which one I do.

Great effort by McDonald considering Dunn played on Cloke all day.

McDonald struggled today, especially with decision making and in one on one, not Robinson Crusoe there however.
