Langdon plays wing irrespective of ANYTHING else mark that down the HFF was a one-off thing due to being away. Won’t happen again!

Melbourne’s new bond
I love the Goody lauding of Viney — knowing what his group needed etc I think speaks volumes.

Melbourne’s new bond
After hearing Andrew Russell on SEN this morning, I couldn’t be more pumped — he spoke about how the correlation between players doing >80% and <60% and having those number in favour was to club finishing high on ladder and “being in a position to contend” & that it’s basically a direct correlation “IRRESPECTIVE of talent” — Given talent we have, to escape Jan with a largely fit list (touch wood) and the re-bonding Jack speaks of combined with all the other factors I’ve referred to in terms of playing list, I’m telling you right now - as it stands - we are PRIMED to attack this year!!!

Didn't see this -- absolutely spot-on, was only as the perceived price IF we did ant the saga to end there and then was insanely good and would've (from cats perspective) potentially even had us paying some salary etc so now that he is fit and firing the likelihood of him being available at the low price is even less moving fwd. The hope was that we were 'done' with the drama and wanted to get another pick in LY Draft knowing we loved its depth etc, it was a cheeky 'lets see' and my frustration was that morins in media tried to sell it as being viable option for us which is idiotic and farcical but that is what they do... Clarry to Cats is well and truly dead in water atm, just like a Trac trade request is.. More to play out obviously but I cannot see us being in sellers market at end-of-year barring a disaster and even then it'd be a limited chance at best. Trac scuttlebutt came about from (allegedly - this is only what I have heard from ppl who know parties involved as well as my own battles on X msngr with Morris himself, it is only a version not fact obv) Bella's profession & knowing ppl in the US sports arena where its all about branding & trade requests aren't a big deal etc amplified by the hurt of the Trac inj etc the nature of how serious it wound up being etc pushed things to be said and explored that likely otherwise never would have, but things are in a diff spot right now & it'd have to be a really significant further breakdown for things to redevelop back into that mindset so whilst it is always a chance for any player, I like to blv its a situation that is buried for good! Morris was getting his info from that side, mgmt etc and kept pushing the narrative based on that info. Otherwise we'd likely never heard much of it at all! Looking fwd to a fruitful 2025 where all this dissipates into anecdotal sidenotes only and the whole saga can be out behind us!

Thats cus they've moved on from Clarry to Rowell mate, spot-on. Clubs know the chance to get Clarry was LY -- Once we knocked it on its head they'd of moved onto next target fairly fast, he was only appealing due to perceived 'bargain' price if we did deem it bets to move him on, thankfully we didn't!

Dees being seriously underrated
Again, 2021 vibes and I am SUPER glad that we are being underrated I think it sits with out group much better than being rated-highly -- PPL look at the ladder and start their analysis there its just lazy but true, opposed to looking at actual record, difficulty of draw, ease of new draw, injuries etc so as a Punter I plan to take full advantage wherever possible.

KOZZY A DEMON FOR LIFE!!!
Post this year, Kossie will be worth much more than 11+14!!! It largely depends on what clubs can GIVE & as a result Freo would struggle to get anywhere near what we'd be asking bringing WC into it but again I think its a matter of Kos telling relatives he'd love to come home when in reality he is happy!

Mentha hype seems real too as sidenote but George can’t get on list let’s be honest and I’m not gonna prey for a inj to one of our list to get him there that’s for sure!!! Mid-season draft but there’s many in frame for that, chance was cat b rookie but seems that got knocked on head so as talented as he is it’ll likely have to be next year unless club somehow pulls rabbit out of the proverbial

That’s not a jinx mate — that’s celebrating a guy being finally fit and maybe getting a chance to show his wares! Jinx would be to say he’s guaranteed to play 20 games and dominate.. but I’m not gonna hold back how exciting it is to see him, Clarry, Billings all look so fit & chomping at the bit! It’s a serious game-changer if they stay fit & confident. as per my earlier post the kids are coming so comp for spots is gonna be a massive part to how our year goes

Sure, but he is only ever 1-2 inj away from being in frame, that is what depth is for! Good signs shown earlier in the pre-season for sure!!!

Can only go by current match sim data.. of course he may play his traditional role but I like that they are exploring it, nothing bad comes of testing out such things its a vibe all of its own! I think these types of things are always good to look at, Fritta has many tools to offer and we KNOW what he can do deep fwd, it'd be an err in judgement if we simply pigeon-holed him in that role without exploring what else he can still offer up-filed like he did early days!

Yep i'd agree -- I'd say it hampered him quite badly esp his handball game which impacted confidence & dare, but the 2way running alongside losing his explosiveness in bursts from stoppage is predominantly what hurt him most & seeing flashes of that in pre-season is huge, as we did not see ANY of that LY he was completely one-paced & could only impact defensively, this pre-seaon he is breaking away, handballing fast again AND getting fwd more to impact hence the 2way running factor.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 22nd January 2025
I think he's got assets to do a more attacking version of that role, remember its NOT the same role as Nibbler, the gameplan has changed and having Fritta further afield helps him score more easily running towards goal & losing his opponent and brings his kicking back into play in a more damaging sense. You have got to look at it as more of an offensive ball-movement type role, not defensive, those elements get covered by others like Sharp, Sparrow, Spargo when fit and others - Whereas Fritta/McAdam might be more link-up types which is DEF something we need if our ball movement is going to improve in both speed and efficiency. I'm 100% with @binman at the moment, there i bs just so many exciting points about the upcoming season, putting aside Premiership aspirations etc (that'll come if we are good enough, have some luck, gameplan change turns for better etc) but the incredible amount of player excitement is epically poised: Clarry redemption, Petty back/swingman, Lindsay/Langford are super exciting, Kos poised for a HUGE year imho once he returns, JVR poised to breakout big time, Jeffo on the prowl, AJ looks like a true bolter, Adams learning from his comrades & taking a step fwd, May looks & shares he feels fitter than EVER, Windsor giving me some total Tulip vibes so I am trying to tone that down.. but honestly kid is SPECIAL!!! Kolt looks like he is going to be a 200-gamer, Trac looks invested & seems much of what went on was perhaps a little column B, C & D rather than being what many thought it was & then there is Rivers, McVee whom both could be ready to go from exciting to STAR level.. I cant recall a time where there was so much potential growth in our list -- Other teams may improve more & a new gameplan might take time, but I am extremely excited to see how these players can go in 25' and beyond... No guarantees but I could name 3-4 more I think have significant growth in them, Sparrow turns out was hampered much of LY, I think Ed is going to be a better player this year, McAdam I haven't given up on.. I can't remember a year I have had nearly as much as this to look fwd too, so I'll take that & if it corresponds to finishing top 4, even better but irrespective I think our list is sitting in a good spot as it stands right now with some luck on the injury front etc it is exciting times!!!

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 22nd January 2025
Sure appears that way.. Richo said as much on RSN.. Looks like R1 team may have 3-4 new faces at this rate which is extremely exciting when you consider outside Kos, Spargs, maybe Rick, we should be full strength! AJ now ahead of Jeffo in many eyes, in terms of R1 that is.. Fritta playing HHF role leads to the suspicion he may fill much of Nibbler role, with it changing along with gameplan to be a more attacking role as opp to LY where it was more defensive & allowed Trac to roam fwd. Sharp to take the more running/def HHF role perhaps, Chin also appears to be in that mix. 2ng wing contest hotting up as well, Bowser, Billings, Spaz, Sharp, Lindsay, Langford (more HF/Mid role seems likely there) -- With Windsor behind the ball I think it might take a while to figure out who gets that role. McAdam def firming to play R1 in Kos absence maybe in more of Fritta role in prev years, other smalls up fwd appear slim ie only Chin, Mentha & Spargo when fit filling that pure small fwd role, but Melk/McAdam/Fritta/Langford are all that good hybrid option.. Exciting times ahead...

Casey Demons - offseason 2024/5
Mid-season draft watch on for Culley, George (if he actually signs w/Casey weird situ atm), Hardie especially — As for other signing great to see some genuine goalkicking fwds signed I can’t wait to see Casey contend this year! Add in fringe Dees and it’s on like donkey kong!!! Let’s say Lindsay (but cld still be R1 demon he’s that talented deal Ltd prep), A fit McAdam (although he may play R1-3 while Kos is out & make a perm spot still think he’s super talented), Adams looks much better developed this year, Campbell, say Billings or Smith, AJ (another who may sneak into R1 calc if pre-season is anything to go by but if so someone else falls out to Casey anyways, Yze perm fixture, Jeffo who’s knocking on door of debut.. it’s gonna be exciting and more pertinently exponentially help Dev of Sestan, AMW, Verrall, Howes etc 👏🏻
