POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Straight Sets Simon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I’ve said this a few times now, there is much more satisfaction winning the flag and being the best team than just winning the flag (which is still amazing). -
How do Bulldogs do it?
Straight Sets Simon replied to Jumping Jack Clennett's topic in Melbourne Demons
In the third quarter when we were getting some momentum Viney was taken high at a centre bounce and it wasn’t paid then moments later he was penalised for doing what a Bolldogs player had just done to him. Fritsch was held in the goalsquare in the first quarter and not paid, but other than that it was well officiated. -
It’s a decent enough podcast but the constant talking over each other is very cringe.

I love Jason Taylor. To paraphrase Peter Jackson, the three things you need to get right are “list management, list management and list management.” Yes, our player development was woeful but you need to pick the right players in the first place which we did not do, but Jason Taylor doesn’t miss. -
When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Straight Sets Simon replied to praha's topic in Melbourne Demons
Incredible that it only took six years to break these records. -
Welcome to Demonland: Bayley Fritsch

Everyone who has complained about the Casey connection, saying we should have a Melbourne reserves team (even though that’s what Casey is) can now be quiet. -

The significance of this moment will never be lost on me: The connection between Stynes and Gawn and the heartbreak of 1988, there was something poetic about it all. Sure, we probably still win the flag if Gawn misses but I just love that we fininshed on top of the ladder. We were the best team all year and it just proved it and makes this premiership (still can’t believe it) all the more sweeter. -

Daniel was good, but no way he deserved a vote. He was never going to get votes but I just can’t stress enough how Jackson changed the game by going into the middle. -

Since I wrote “game over” in the match day thread we kicked 17 goals to one. I clearly could see what was about to happen. I can’t believe it, I just can’t believe it. Love to you all. -

Only downer comment, has anyone ever played a worse game than Tom McDonald tonight? -

Spot on. Constantly overrunning the ball and the Bulldogs look far more dangerous when the ball hits the ground in their forward line. -

This is just the best. Go well, Demonlanders, no matter what this year has been a hell of an enjoyable ride.
