Match preview and team selection - Round 3
Satyriconhome replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Brayshaw's is form Hannan and Hunt the same I asked at training today They are expected to knock the door down at Casey, starting Sunday Kent has been rewarded for not only 'attacking' the game last week, even though it was only a praccy game but his training, he has been doing extra and has exceeded all his previous stats -

Gee, we pick 22 players, have you noticed the bench on a Thursday, doesn't always match the starting 22 or bench on match day 2018 chaps not 1978 -
No that was when I showed him some of the posts on Demonland

The modern footy player during the season works six days a week Weights, physio, ice baths, swimming, gym work, line meetings, life education sessions, game day, recovery sessions, 2 or 3 days outside sessions, promotional and sponsorshio commitments etc etc @Drunkn167 could probably add bits I have missed, but probably against club policy I joked with Harmes one day, was bemoaning he was booked in for last weights session and would not get away till after 5 after being there since 7 or 8 in the morning, I said 'like a proper job'

I would say Pedo, if Weid finally comes good because we have King and Flip developing as well, age may finally count against him JKH if he can't crack a senior game Vince, age again -

I have watched him doing the beep running in rehab, his top speed is above average I would say -

It was a typical Lewis game, outstanding when we needed him in last quarter and a couple of stupid brain fades, wouldn't be Lewis

I only shoot down the blowhards who post 'I'm right and everbody else is wrong' and then attempt to bully other posters into submission I have most on ignore now This has been a really good discussion for a page or two, it does happen occasionally on here Everybody is putting forward their opinion and nobody is deriding them for it, just stating their own, a discussion Lewis has done that for years, oops, my opinion, it was stupid The team are slowly learning to put the brakes on the opposition, but in the heat of the game when you have a group of attack minded young players (which we all love now), the coaches and leaders have a job akin to herding cats
-
Everybody has an opinion, some think theirs is the only correct one, not me, I just post my opinion, don't demand anything, unlike some The issue lies with the inexperience still within the playing group I've listened to the coaches, the idea is to slow the game down to kill opposition momentum, not rocket science, it's whether the older heads can rein in the younger ones a rush of goals adds to the panuc, making it harder for the coaches and leaders 4th qtr we managed it The coach is in the box, not on the field Doesn't help if a leader gives away a stupid free kick to allow the opposition to draw level
-
There you go, 2 games in, reading some of the topics after a win, you would think this was the Bulldogs supporters board Not sure which bit some supporters don't get we are still a work in progress, these 2 games in the past, we would have capitulated to Geelong and lost by a goal to Brisbane
-
Goodwin is not a demonstrative coach During the 3rd qtr Crossy was out on the field quite often and players on the phone when on the bench, what were they doing, ordering takeaway for after the game Goodwin can coach all he likes, if the players don't implement, listen to what Hogan said post match, back to fundamentals no bells and whistles We still have an inexperienced side who had freewheeled in the first half, we tried it again in the 3rd when Brisbane lifted with the obvious result We steadied in the 4th because the leaders righted the ship and went back to fundamentals We learn again and move onto the next game
-
No you said remembering winners, everybody remembers these, we're playing well tonight aren't we, having a few social pale ales and watching on big screen
-
So am I, but I keep footy in perspective I follow the Club anyway in more ways than one, promised a big Irishman A win tonight would be good, I watch the footy to enjoy, don't watch for mistakes etc if we play well we give ourselves a chance to win Just don't issue emotive ultimatums
-
I remember Lance Armstrong, Ben Johnson, Hansie Cronje, await your on the spit training report with interest, direct from the schoolyard
-
I was disappointed we lost like everybody else, but had a couple of craft beers and a chat to my lovely lady about the game, she analyses it more than I do, and the sun came up the next day, I keep footy in perspective If winning is all that counts, your life could be one long disappointment Winning at all costs led to an idiot blubbering at a Press Conference this week, sympathy nah not for a second
-
So it's all about winning for you then, last week's game was a really good game of footy, apart from the last kick I enjoyed and appreciated it

Casey Demons v Frankston - practice match
Satyriconhome replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
I had a chat to Pat at training, was sent to see a hammy specialist in Canberra, back running so now his pre season starts, so 8 to 10 weeks Of course like Viney and Tommy Mc one step at a time, has been kept busy by the club The coaching staff rate him, just needs to get on the park
