  1. Glad to hear of some self confidence from him. He has most of the tools, and at least one elite trait. Only needed the continuity of games, and no niggles. Im tipping he might be the midfield link man we have been craving. Only wish is that he could find a tad more speed. @DemonAndrew It's been reported that Lewis will play in defence this season, hence his absence from the pic.
  2. That's quite common. In the mines, an immediate escort off site is standard practice for someone who is terminated, for any reason. Particularly in my game, where explosives security is involved.
  3. Thank you No really, thank you so much. Tightened my glutes for sure......
  4. Just needs to stay on the park Can find the ball, and is a fantastic kick. This may just be the year he "arrives"
  5. What's his agility and reading of the play like? Nev Jetta made a success of transitioning to a defender, based partly on his ability to quickly change direction, and cut off the angles for his opponent. The pressure/tackling thing is good news, but as a defender it's also a requirement to kill a contest and prevent an opposition disposal. If you cant read the play, you are one step behind.
  6. I worry about the mindset of any player who is that much of a mummies boy that he can't bring himself to be away from her, but if he gets fit and establishes himself in the senior team, it will be yet another great pickup by our recruiting team. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, even those opinions that you dont like. I too hope Harley is fine. He is a Demon now after all. Thats all I care about. Rage away.
  7. While recovering from testicular cancer, after losing his father? You lefties have no compass of any kind. Real issues. One was life and death for Jesse, the other resulted in death for his father. As soon as someone posts something that you cant get your head around, your eyes close, your ears shut, and your lose all touch with reality. Your moral crusade is wasted on me mate, because I can see straight through it.
  8. Mrs Bombay Air is a certified legend. If we beat Geelong in round 1, get her to plan September for you.
  9. Agree totally with the It takes a lot more mental courage to be honest with yourself about what your emotional needs are than it does to just plow on regardless. Men deal horribly with mental illness. Always have, and its in part because of the tough guy attitude. Players get injured all the time, and many for long terms. Some cope, some dont. I prefer the ones who cope, and I see nothing wrong with that. Jesse Hogan is mentally tough. Incredibly so.
  10. But he WAS homesick. So you agree with me then hey? I think not being able to perform at your best without having mum nearby is mentally weak. (If that's what his problem was) People have been banging on about how important the mental side of the game is for years. Mental strength is needed in difficult situations. I'm hoping for the best, but not expecting much from him.
  11. Will be interesting to see how much our midfield is transformed by having the kicking skills of that pair following the ball around. Oliver, Viney, Brayshaw, Jones, Petracca, Salem A good mix of brute force and Silk
  12. Not sure what else they could have put in that article. I worry about the mindset of any player who is that much of a mummies boy that he can't bring himself to be away from her, but if he gets fit and establishes himself in the senior team, it will be yet another great pickup by our recruiting team. The article says he will play half forward. I'm more confident by the day that Petracca will be seen much more through the midfield this coming season. That excites me even more.
  13. No its not Saty @DeeSpencer posts info from training sessions, and does not take exception if someone disagrees with his views. You share some great info, directly from the players mouths, and make a huge contribution to the site, and then go out of your way to undo all of your great work by whining condescendingly at anyone who dares to question your fanboi views. When you let people have their own views on players, you are a really interesting, and highly respected member of the site, but when old Saty rears his head, you are nothing but a rifle range target.
  14. The Lever families first "saved" post from Demonland. Lever yearbook cover page.
  15. New game plan coming methinks. Exciting.
  16. The Saty of the past few days is an asset to the site, and an interesting read. This version is the reason for most arguments on this site.
  17. I was squinting and trying to figure out if I had lost my mind also. Cant recall Trapper running the wing against Norf and Sydney in those two epic finals wins.
  18. He played at 6'10" from memory, and was one hell of a good player. One of our go-to guys during 4 Olympic campaigns.
  19. Carrying your own clubs instead of riding around in a buggy. Tough game golf.
  20. The ball is about to hit his hands instead of bouncing off his face. It aint Fitzy
  21. Can't believe it without proof. Pics please
  22. Did you look at the vids and all info available of every other player drafted prior to making that claim? Otherwise it's your post that could be considered laughable.
  23. Lever and Balic ARE young talent m11 You use your picks to bring in talent, either by drafting or trading. We are loading up for a flag tilt, and were always going to trade top picks for top established talent at some stage. Some people seem to prefer the excitement of the unknown. Give me a (quality) known quantity any day.
  24. This is the bit where we stop bitching at each other, and actually appreciate the track watchers who take their time to post pics of the new players. If anyone can get pics of Petty with Oscar, Ninja with Hunt etc, that would be even cooler. I'll just sit here refreshing my screen for the next couple of hours in anticipation, and appreciation. Thanks. *refresh* *refresh*
  25. Damn this late night alcohol I will try again The Brayshaw and Frost predictions were ordinary considering they barely played all year, while the Melksham guess was meh. No win/loss ratio No ladder position................. I will lay $200 on the line, that you and @P-man will vote my prediction as closer to the mark than @ding at the end of next season, provided that Ding matches my bet. Oops, I mean to say I get the cash, not you guys, as obviously I will win yeah?
