A Day at the Races
Best Bets: Flemington Race 3 No 2 Ruban Bleu $6.50 Morphetville Race 4 No 1 Mongolian Wolf $4.40 Flemington Race Race 7 No 2 Voodoo Lad $3.80 A lot of value there this week folks, the 3 win multi gives us approx $108.00 for your dollar. Should be around 5/1 for the place multi.

A Day at the Races
Best Sport Bets: Hawthorn v Geelong either side under 15.5 pts $2.50 These two sides have a history of close finishes regardless of ladder positions. Both fighting for finals, should be a cracker. Melbourne v Sydney Melbourne 1-39 $2.06 The Dees just have to win, wont be a walk in the park. The danger is if Gawn doesnt play and we probably wont know till Sunday. I say take the risk, we are a better side than the one that lost this game last year. Keep Buddy quiet and were into the finals.

A Day at the Races
Macca can start the thread then....im not sure how, havent done one for years. Or we can do it next week, if your too busy etc. Anyone can nominate their bets at anytime before 7pm on a Friday night i guess?

A Day at the Races
Yep thats pretty much my thinking as well i guess now. I wasnt sure about Binman , but we can start off with 2 each this week and just see how it goes. Like i say, we can adapt as we go along. Theres 6 or 7 rounds of AFL/NRL to go. I want to do a pick 6 yes. I know you think its pretty hard and it is, but its not impossible and the returns are good. There is also no obligation to put it on, but ill post it up as such, like we do with the horse picks. Anyways....lets just do one and see how it goes. Ok, Monkey Business it is then !

A Day at the Races
haha yes they did........ I hear ya......but i think its pretty unlikely.......but..how about ...Monkey Business Whats with Oliver? Hes suddenly 3rd in line in the Brownlow race @ 13/1? Max out to 15s........Theyre practically paying out on Mitchell anyways.... My early observation on sport BBs is Hawthorn Geeelong...either side under 15.5....at the G and neither side will give up. Its really a finals match. Paying 2.55 (a good sign cause they usually 2.70)

A Day at the Races
Do we really need a new thread just to put a multi on tho? The good thing about this thread is it covers a lot about horse racing and other sports in general. When the Spring kicks in the sport multi will die down i reckon....once the footy finishes.... But hey ill go with whatever......A Night at the Opera?

A Day at the Races
I would like 2 selections from each person to start off with, just to see how that goes. I put many selections on myself generally, but i like other peoples selections, its a bit more inclusive and more fun. You are pretty good with NRL for example DZ if the soccer legs are a bit thin. If you dont like much sport legs, well maybe throw in a decent horse to run a place perhaps?
-
A Day at the Races
Ok Macca, I see. Sat 5pm is getting a bit late as many possible legs would have run by then i guess. Are those late baseball odds on Ladbrokes or TAB or both? Could you possibly get 2 legs in on a Friday night? If not then 1 would do i guess and throw in a race horse even for a place.......5pm Friday is plenty of time.

A Day at the Races
Well you dont have to be a genius at footy to know that Melbourne was always gonna beat the Gold Coast by 40+ for example, but it was never gonna pay. Some games are just obvious. Since Gill had his coaches meeting 6 weeks ago, we seem to have gone back to a more normal game of football. I think what i like is that some games, some people are better at picking than others. As you say Macca, Baseball i would be hopeless at, but if there is a game that is obvious to you then... thats what we want. Im fine with the Friday night for a sport if thats the way it is. Would be good to get them in by 7pm in case there is a Friday night game somebody likes. Also if Binman wants to throw in 2 sports as well, then we would have 8 to pick from. I have no issue with the sport, hell you can even make it a racehorse if you want? What im looking for is the smart option. Try and pick a combination over a few sports, that 1 person would struggle to get. Everyone has their preferences. I actually think that the 6 leg multi is the perfect number. Ive done it a number of times, with the highest result 2400 from 10. (that included a kick after the siren which missed from close range to make the margin). A win like that actually pays for about 8 years of matches @ 10 bucks a round! So your playing with house money for a few years. There are also combinations where you can pay more money and miss 1 leg getting up. Although to be honest i dont think it ever pays that well. Am i on the right track?? Im open to all suggestions and we can always tweek it as we go along. Keep the thoughts coming in and see if we can get one up for this weekend.

A Day at the Races
Ah ok got it. Might have a go at that.....beginners luck and I dont know much about Rugby...ha.. Ok I was thinking best 2 teams over a weekend. Margin spread ie Melbourne 1-39 & Storm +13 for example. Or some thing like either team under 15.5 of which there were 5 results last weekend....that gives us a 6 leg multi which you can take all or just some, whichever way you want to put it on. By doing margin 6 leg for 10 bucks you can often get a payout over 1k. I've done it a few times, but I think using the collective talents of the team might work..

A Day at the Races
Not sure I understand exactly what the bet was....exact score, but 10 point buffer? Great to see everyone getting into multis......love it. Maybe we do a Day at the Races multi before spring settles in

A Day at the Races
Appearently so. Well hes won 9m soooooo.......The horse whisperer offers his services appearently but hes very expensive.....He fixed Pakistan Star who used to pull up in the middle of a race! Hasn't done it since. Seems like the owners are a just a bit greedy.
-
A Day at the Races
Yep, i agree. If you can find a couple of value runners and put them together it will pay for weeks of punting! maybe more......Having said that tho, in the spring quite often a fav can be paying upwards of $4.00....which is why its so attractive to punt at that time. Ive got a heap of long distant bets hinging on the some runners in featured races such as Ace High and getting odds in the high double figures......if only 1 or 2 of those come off then its well worth the wait.

A Day at the Races
wOW......seems we started off with a bang, then the downward J Curve really kicked in.....winter, late autumn im guessing. Still its all good practice for you know when!!
-
A Day at the Races
Yes....good one Macca, new season indeed!! How did we finish the old season by the way>?....just wondering.... I took both you guys horses for a place, but Kementari was only paying 1.15, so i put it in for a win....should have gone the other way... I had it anchoring a few footy multis, oh well..
-
A Day at the Races
Thats the first time ive seen it.....well that was definitely a blistering run from Kementari.......totally held up. Pfft! Where did DZs horse finish? Did it get a place??
-
A Day at the Races
Sorry but totally missed all the action today. Did roof insulation......i live in an old miners cottage and its freezing, so been waiting for a mate to come over and help me.....was up there for hours....even discovered an old wooden shingle roof from early last century under the corrugated sheets! ....but i digress.....i take it Kementari didnt win..... I did however pick the 3 games today all under 15.5pts in a multi so happy with that! The kangas got up Macca as you said.....and i think Adelaide winning will help the Dees.

A Day at the Races
