They were....we used to go everytime they were on after games. Ill always remember when we beat Hawthorn in about round 18 one year and went to the top of the ladder for the first time in god knows how long............. He came on stage and just smiled that big beaming smile he has and held up 1 finger. The audience went beserk. -
Tye Angland injury: Jockey declared quadriplegic following Sha Tin fall Written By Tom Naghten Aussie jockey Tye Angland has been declared quadriplegic following a fall in Hong Kong late last year. Angland came off after his mount Go Beauty Go stumbled out of the barriers at Sha Tin on Sunday, November 25. The 29-year-old hoop had surgery at a local hospital where he remained for two weeks before being flown to Sydney. The Australian Jockeys Association released a statement providing an update on Angland's condition on Tuesday. "As you are aware, Tye suffered a spinal cord injury when he was dislodged from a horse whilst riding in Hong Kong on Sunday 25 November 2018," the statement read. "We now have confirmation that as a result of the fall, Tye is now a quadriplegic. "Tye has some movement in his arms but is unable to walk. "Tye remains at the Royal Rehabilitation Centre in Sydney as he continues his recovery and rehabilitation. "Together, the family are currently working with a range of stakeholders in terms of co-ordinating and financing Tye's ongoing care and the family's long-term needs. "His wife Erin, and the couple's three children, Alexis, Addison and Rylan continue to be amazed by the support they have received and wish to say thank you to everyone who has reached out to them." There has again been an outpouring of support for the Sydney-based Angland, with the racing community rallying around him and his family. Angland has ridden 11 group 1 winners in his career, including the 2015 Australian Oaks aboard Gust of Wind, making him the last jockey to pass the post before Winx. Shocking news. Thoughts are with the family.

In and around 1998/2000 a lot of people used to go to the Hilton near the ground post match and Daniher would get up on stage and address the crowd.....was pretty good function room close to the ground...very large, held a few people.. ....or we could just go to Goschs on the Sunday. -

Hes the best ive seen, just takes the breathe away some of the things he does. Im not sure he will win a Brownlow tho, he just doesnt seem to poll votes? Had only 3 or 4 up until round 17 last year and he seemed way better than that, in fact finishing on 13, and only polling in 6 games. Does he give a bit back to the umps?? Guess hell just have to share one with Gus. -
Who ever heard of a name like Sheffield Wednesday anyway?.........cant be a serious footy club like the Fuchsias!
