So I have absolutely no problem with the Dees writing the fattest cheque in the history of the game to land Roos, particularly if it's back doored by the AFL.

This could be a game changer for this club. Get it done.

For the first time in years I'm excited about this club:

1 - performances are getting better and we're having a crack;

2 - don't see players on the field with their heads dropped and looking as though they want to be somewhere else;

3 - what appears to be a proper direction and plan for the FD;

4 - CEO, what do you say...brilliant job to date;

5 - overhaul and bringing in the right people; and

6 - and the cream on the cake, hopefully Roosy...

I know people will say, don't get ahead of yourself. But, I feel like dancing in the street and giggling like a little school kid!!

There has been comments in the press saying that Viney and Neeld were arguing over last year's draft. Do you know what that was about.

A mate of mine was talking to one of younger up and coming players and he said that everyone is wrapped MN is gone. Said there's a real buzz around the place since he's left. Also mentioned don't stress re players not signing, will be done shortly.

First Stockdale won't be President, l hope your right with the other board members though. I have a feeling Brown and Rawlings are on contracts for next year.

Obviously I want to see our club with the best and experienced Football Dept possible. However I feel for the Mahoney/Brown/Rawlings' of the club who appear to give it their all, but don't know if they're coming or going.

IMO the sooner PJ let's everyone know where they stand in the scheme of things the sooner the team can create some stability and hopefully performances.

Here's my uneducated guess as to how things will play out.

Roos in discussions with the club at the moment. Keen to take it on. No need to announce for a couple of months Wants to extract as much as possible from the AFL in terms of support and draft concessions.

Mid August club announce Roos ha been appointed head coach and will come in at seasons end to oversee draft etc fro next season. In the mean time will meet with Craig and discuss how he would like the boys to play.

Craig will be announced as Football Manager, perfect for the role, has the team onside already (in the same way Balme does at Geelong) and will work hand in glove with Roos and PJ. A smooth transition takes place at seasons end.

After Roos is appointed he announces his assistants. Cameron Ling is one. Leigh Brown stays as does Rawlings. Royal goes and is replaced by Jnr, which goes a long way to healing some wounds.

I thought along very similar lines Binman, however Craig has all but ruled himself out of the GM position.

It would be an awesome outcome if it did eventuate though, we can only wish!

Why couldn't Craig fill the new position of Head of Football, from my understanding Balme (ex coach who knows what it's about) is in that role at Geelong and is killing it. Then either Roos/Clarkson (fingers crossed) as Head Coach????

He was asked this question at today's presser, which he ruled out completely.

It will be interesting when the new coach comes along (if not Craig) whether he'll be kept or stick around as high performance coach. My guess is that if he doesn't get the job he'll be gone.

I always believed that would be the case. If he turns the club around in the second half of the season it would be difficult to say no to him.

I'm furious at the whole club. Disgraceful performance for the past 6 years.

Agree, Roos will no doubt dance around the question. As someone mentioned above, I'll also be watching body language as I don't think they'll be asking him hard hitting questions.

Clarkson, Roos, Eade, Williams, Ratten could be good if they're willing.

I'm not convinced that we HAVE to go for an experienced coach. We could go for the best new coach with a proper process this time - Richardson, Burns, Tudor.

We've already got Neil Craig and he could be mentor to a new coach a la Thompson-Hird, Williams-Hardwick, Eade-Buckley - yes we tried this but Neeld wasn't the right choice.

After Neelds second pre season there appeared to be no obvious signs that we would be so rotten at the seasons start.

Neelds words were bullish at the start of the season and yet not one MFC insider announced any negativity about 2013. All expectations were we would win between 5 and 8 games and further improve in 2014. So why didn't anyone at the club including board level see any warning signs?

We almost had a injury free list at the start yet no one including Neeld expected we would fall over so easily. Now we have to totally restructure and I have heard nobody take actual responsibility.

Don resigns but does not apologise for such a mess. Everyone who will go will just walk away without anyone knowing exactly why we ended up in such a pathetic position. Who the hell is responsible and what did they do wrong. Does anyone know the actual reasons why the players are not improving under Neeld? Lots of questions but not many answers.
